I absolutely love Poplar's game, I think he would thrive at Georgetown. It's actually amazing how many of these big time prospects the Hoyas are extremely well positioned with. A .500 team who hasn't been to the NCAAs since these kids were in grade school and we have a shot to be a top 10 class in the country. Riley and Billingsley are kids who would have blown up this summer, Beard after a year at Hargrave is going to be ready day-1 (I think he would have been already, but whatever). Poplar, Muhammad, Mutombo, Reid, Holmgren, Kepnang, Malachi Smith the list goes on and on with guys the Hoyas have serious traction with. Huge testament to the work Coach Pat and staff have done over the last few years. The tide is turning on the hilltop. YEEESSSSS! Let's also be honest. This team would have been in prime position for an NCAA tournament bid (pre COVID) If it wasn't for some of the court shenanigans/bad decisions that three players got caught up in and injuries. Even then Coach Ewing had this team with only 6 players (not the top 6), two of them freshman, one of them was supposed to redshirt, in every game except at Marquette. I don't care what anybody else thinks, Coach Ewing proved he's a helluva Coach! I'm excited to see what he can do going forward. YEEESSSS! GREAT TIMES ARE COMING BACK! Absolutely true. With Mac and Yurt that 7 man team makes the NCAAs, which is remarkable. Just keep these kids in the program for a few years and we will be back at the top of the Big East where we belong. I hope Ryan Mutombo sees that and realizes and he can push the Hoyas over the top. Wahab as a Junior will be the best big man in the Big East and then we can have Mutombo as a Freshman banging with him and filling in for him at times. The 2021-22 Hoyas could be special.

I'm going to keep saying it, Nisine Poplar out of Philly is a STUD and one of my favorite players in the 2021 class. I saw him play in person twice in 2019. He's got so much Victor Oladipo in his game. Future Pro! For those of you who only validate players by stars or a # next to their names, the "Ranking Industry" hasn't seen him enough and are way behind the curve on this one. He's only been playing ball for a couple years and dominated the Philadelphia Public School League this past season. The staff had offered and I hear they are involved with him. Hoyas get him they are getting a steal. I would put him up their with. Some of the top Wings in the country like Aminu Mohammed without any hesitation. I absolutely love Poplar's game, I think he would thrive at Georgetown. It's actually amazing how many of these big time prospects the Hoyas are extremely well positioned with. Assuming/Hoping that we are 1 of the 2 finals teams any guess on who the other school will be? Dayton? Temple? ASU? Rumblings that it is between us & ASU. That is what I have seen as well. Talk about two opposite ends of the spectrum.

1. FIVE-STAR WATSON LEADS THREE MONDAY DECISIONS An active week of commitment from the 2021 Rivals150 will start off with a bang today as five-star wing Peyton Watson, four-star guard Angelo Brizzi and point guard Bensley Joseph all make their decisions. A product of Putnam (Conn.) Science Academy, Joseph will be up first to make his decision around lunchtime. The quick playmaker has Boston College, Georgetown, Marquette, Miami and Providence in his final group of five and if his Futurecast is an indicator, the Hurricanes look to be the team to beat. Set to decide at 7 p.m. ET, Brizzi is one of the very best jump shooters in the class of 2021. It wasn't long ago that Brizzi cut things down to a final eight of Arizona, California, Colorado, Dartmouth, Davidson, Michigan, Northwestern and Villanova. Last week Nova landed top 50 guard Jordan Longino, and it looks good to add Brizzi as well. A few hours after Brizzi, Watson is set to make his announcement. The highest ranked player scheduled to make a decision this week, the long and athletic five-star wing at Long Beach (Calif.) Poly hasn't ever released a final list but he's been a major Pac-12 target for over a year now. Headed into decision day, we favor UCLA over the likes of Arizona, Oregon and others. 4. FOUR-STAR ADAMS TO DECIDE ON FRIDAY The final Rivals150 prospect scheduled to decide this week is four-star forward K.J. Adams. Ranked No. 83 nationally, Adams is a strong 6-foot-6 four man from Austin (Texas) Westlake. Down to a final ten of Arkansas, Baylor, Georgetown, Iona, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech and UCF, Adams will reveal his decision at 7 p.m. CT. Over the last month or so, Baylor had been thought to be doing well. With their recent commitments, though, the Bears and Adams may no longer be a match. The Big 12 is still prominent on his list and if not Baylor, many have long thought he would stay in the conference. Is that still the case? Could Georgetown be a sleeper to land him? We'll be monitoring all week. Sounds like Miami which is hard for me to understand. Holding out hope for the Hoyas though. Joseph - Riley would be a terrific 1-2 punch in the 2021 backcourt class, hoping Beard sticks in as well. Brizzi to Nova sounds about right. I'm sure the kid will be a killer.

Nice addition. Also means adding Javian Davis would require another open spot. So... Davis announcing today. Not much chatter out there. A Miss St prediction on 247 last week but not much else. I know we're "full" right now, but we could use a 4/5 like Davis - especially this year if possible. Wonder if we're still interested. Not going to do any more speculating than that about what it might mean for the roster... One thing I am praying for this season is roster stability so I would hate to see them sign davis and then someone gets pushed out. This program can't handle more sketchy departures. Really like Davis and think he'd be a great add, but I really hope the roster stays where it is through the entire season. Seems like a lot to ask these days...

Mohammed is the type of prospect who is absolutely a take anywhere he wants regardless of who you already have in the class. Day 1 starter, one-done type talent. Isn't he also the type of recruit that could go the G league route? I think that adds some serious hedging to his recruiting so you need to have depth if you are recruiting a kid of his caliber & ranking (know nothing about his desired path). Yep absolutely. Programs need to not count on any of those 5 star type kids and just leave a spot for them if they decide to go to college.

this probably takes us out of the running for Mohammed. But I'm fine with that. First come first serve. We can't be waiting around. Still uncertain able beard sice we looking at other pg like I Joseph, Collins, Blakes, Brantley and Smith... Whatever interest Mohammed has in coming to GU isn't going to be shaken by the backcourt we've got lined up for next year, Riley and another PG included. Mohammed is the type of prospect who is absolutely a take anywhere he wants regardless of who you already have in the class. Day 1 starter, one-done type talent.

Kid Definitely a 5. He'll he is damn near 7 ft from what I have been reading. he moves like a 5. he can’t handle the ball on the perimeter nor does he shoot from the outside like that consistently. Would have a hell of a time trying to guard power forwards on the perimeter like it is play nowadays. That’s why I say if we get Mutombo next year where does that put Wilson. he would be basically the fourth center on the roster. the minutes just would not be there for him going forward... Good problem to have.

Why do we think this kid is a PF? Love it. Sounds like he is a legit 5. I think that people think of him as more of a 4 because when he started being recruited he was maybe 6'9", but if he really has grown into 6'11", he is a center. Even more reason why he sounds like Georgetown is the perfect fit. Come learn from Uncle Pat every single day.

Ummmm, the staff hadn't already offer Dug McDaniel??? Wowza. He is the top guy on the board for me in 2022. Total game changer.

Landing a top recruiting class for 2021 is more important to the program than wins and losses in the upcoming season. If the staff falls flat on this class it will lead to a new coaching staff. 21 is that important. 2021 class is very important, but not more important than a competitive season. Go 15-15 again and it doesn't matter if Mutombo and Collins or whoever are in the boat, that is a sinking boat. Need 18+ wins, top 6 in the Big East finish; I know that is a lot to ask with six freshman, but it has to happen.

I hope he comes and commits early. I don’t want to sound dramatic, but the ‘21 class is make or break. I understand and appreciate that Ryan wants to enjoy the process and take his time, but man, it would be really, really helpful for him to get in the boat and start recruiting guys to come with him. Start to stabilize things a bit. Again, I don't blame him, but it sure would help! If he can just commit before the season starts this fall, I would be very happy. Get him in the boat, have a solid start to the season with umpteen freshman getting minutes, that would be a nice look.

I remember him tweeting about Georgetown and Wichita State being on him, but not mentioning an offer. Can we confirm scholarship or not? It sounds like a walk-on to me, which would obviously be fine.. Scholarship... not so much. That said, Welcome to the Hilltop Collin! Get to work.

I don't like the "recruiting over him" line of thinking. If the Hoyas sign Frankie Collins tomorrow for the 2021 class, are they recruiting over Beard and Harris? If there is one thing the Hoyas have learned in the last few years, we need as many players as possible on the roster. Who knows who will stay and go. To answer your question, yes, they'd be recruiting over Beard and Harris. Harris wouldn't have a leg to stand on to be mad, because as a low-ranked recruit, he had to know he'd be recruited over when he chose Georgetown over his other options (low- and mid-majors). I don't see it that way, I think competition should always be expected and coaches should always be bringing in the best players they can in each class. I don't want to derail this thread though so I'll just agree to disagree. Really happy to see Coach Pat staying on Hawkins. Baldwin mentioning the Hoyas is good too, but that's an uphill battle to say the least. Keep grinding Pat.

Kerwin Walton thread is locked, so I couldn't post this there - but UNC is already recruiting over him. I don't like the "recruiting over him" line of thinking. I've been wondering when this offer would come. DC native. 5 star kid who would step in at the 2-guard spot day 1 next year.

Messy situation, but I am sure Coach Pat apologized and hope they will move on. Sounds like Mac is back which is the important thing. Terrific news. Harris - Mac - Blair - Harris/Beard is a really strong backcourt with a good balance of veterans and youth. If Wahab progresses the way I think he will, the Hoyas could be back in the top half of the Big East.
