Agree, that seems more realistic.

I'll be shocked if the NCAA is able to pull this season off. Cases are surging and it's only going to get worse. And trying to get 350+ teams to follow the same requirements is going to be like herding cats. I don't think this is going to work out and frankly I don't think schools should even be attempting it. The battle was lost when college football got the go-ahead. Unless cases come down, you are gonna see I think a lot of issues in football soon too, and disadvantage is for basketball 2-3 players will have a big impact on fielding teams (in a watchable way). It’s “doable” but will be very hard and I agree on the herding cats. Also, football is revenue generating in a way basketball isn’t and I just imagine the tolerance for pain by administrators will be a lot lower. Just think, we don’t have a vaccine or even true rapid testing and cases are worse than at any other time, and we are trying to send kids all over the country to play. I hope it happens, but I think we are all being pretty optimistic.

$78 million is a solid career. Has had very roller coaster career and contracts- this season a microcosm - got cut by a team part way through season for a playoff bound team then proceeds to play well Somewhere else.
Thaddeus young is from his draft class and was always consistent (if not boring career). Made $30mm more. Ian Mahinmi of course made $140mm (timing is everything).
I do think he is the type of player who (especially if he can get his 3pt shot to fall) ends up a solid role player for backend of his career, ironic given his athletic potential is what frustrated people the most.
For a guy who had heart surgery, everything is second to that, hopes he gets a ring one day!

He’s been hooping since joining the rockets. History says he can’t be consistent (see takes on Twitter and career stats) but I do think the maturation of his game and blend with Houston could be good this year. Who knows about his next contract / team but he always had the talent.

Isn't there a big difference between having say students in a limited, social distance environment attend non virtual classes with some smaller subset of teachers, and sending students across state lines to play close contact sports? I personally think its very unreasonable to think anything non-essential should continue in that way, without a lot of daily and accurate testing. Fauci basically implies until vaccine arrives opening up will no doubt increase deaths, so if you think economy should open up despite guarantee of likelihood of causing more deaths I think that's just a harsh reality the economy will need to eat. No one agrees its ideal and will indeed take a big sacrifice. And likely much more govt coordination/leadership than what we have seen so far.

Looking back, the player we missed most in my mind was Josh. Allen may have been the better point guard for this team that Akinjo. In a perfect world, it would have been nice to see how a healthy team of Allen, Mosely, Mac, Blair, jamarko, Josh, Omer and Q would have done. My guess is pretty well. Don’t think he would have made a huge difference if Mac and Omer were injured like they were though. That and not making any outside shots a lot of games/ inconsistent selection/ TOs killed us with a tired team. I don’t think Josh resolves those. But yes healthy would be interesting. Was really tough to judge this year.

Thought I would bump up... how do people feel Tim played this season / how has his play affected your view of his potential?

Jagan, Jwall, Jabril, Jeff - among my favorite to rep the blue and gray.

Blair has been horrible shooting last 6 games. Some fatigue And good teams but he also just missed a lot of shots. Hard to hide but hope he also finds consistency next year. 3-16 3-14 8-23 5-15 7-18 1-10 27/96 or 28% to close out the season. And no choice really to play him 40min a game

The committee does take personnel into account in selection. However, agree you need to be closer to the bubble, and even if we had beaten DePaul and Nova, we still may have needed to win tournament. Its a very remote chance, especially considering roster and time off by players. If we get to the finals, just happy to have the argument. There are some teams that I think have better records but less upside / quality wins than us but we need all the wins we can get to help our case.

We still beat Syracuse and have a better NET rating than Cuse. Despite missing 6 players for conference play. They should feel *** tier than us

How would you compare him (your projection of him in a couple of years) to Myles Powell as a NBA prospect? Myles just being a well-known player with similar height and NBA role (undersized SG)?

Also of similar note, Texas Tech (NET 21) profile vs Gtown is:
Q1 3-9 vs 4-10 Q2 4-1 vs 5-2 Q3 3-0 vs 1-0 Q4 8-0 vs 5-0 SOS: 93 vs 21 Road: 3-6 vs 4-5
Which is to say 7-10 vs Q1/Q2 vs 9-12 vs Q1/Q2, and 11-0 vs Q3/Q4 vs 6-0 Q3/Q4.

Of teams that have 4+ Q1 wins and 9+ combined Q1 Q2 wins, all are ranked in AP 25 or receiving votes except for :
Oklahoma (0 Q3/Q4 losses) SOS 32 Georgetown (0 Q3 /Q4 losses) SOS 21
Providence (4 Q3 /Q4 losses) SOS 11 NC State (3 Q3 /Q4 losses) SOS 72
Will be interesting to see how we compare to those teams 3 games from now. Not out of it yet. Note: Providence, NC state, Oklahoma are last 4 in in Lunardi brackets.
Also of note, those teams beat ranked teams recently.

BYU vs Wichita State in first round in Lunardi bracket.
Less Q1 victories than Hoyas combined. Their best wins combined are :
Houston (lower than Creighton and Butler) Oklahoma state UConn Utah State (lower than Creighton and Butler)
Also have 6 Q2 losses.
