as stated on the front page, the Hoyas are 1-12 in their last 13 regular season BE games. The only win was vs st johns. In those 12 losses, they have given up 75+ points 9 times, including all 3 this year. This team is a sh!t show defensively. The centers (govan and hayes) kill this team defensively. They offer nothing on the back end, repeatedly get worked on pick/roll and often are seen just floating around at the top of the lane guarding no one in particular. Hayes is too limited physically. 0 rebounds in 10 minutes last night. I have no idea how Mourning can't sniff the court but hayes continues to provide empty minutes on the floor. Govan is just lazy defensively. He has no interest in defending and only a slight interest in boxing out and rebounding. I have been a fan for 40 years and he is easily the worst defensive center I have seen in a hoyas uniform. offensively, only 2 players (agau & derrickson)showed up. too many 3's. peak and pryor played out of control. the pg position gives the team nothing offensively with Campbell out. And what has happened to Kaleb Johnson? This was the quote II gave to Jon Rothstein in November... 'John Thompson III told me that Kaleb Johnson has been Georgetown's most improved player since last year. Has become more than a defender.'
Now, he can't get more than 8 minutes a game? I realize that he fits the same spots as peak and pryor but most teams play multiple swing players in todays game. Young players like kaleb and mourning need minutes.
This team is a mess and I don't see it getting any better. III stressed pushing the ball and increasing scoring this year and it hasn't led to wins. defense is at an all time low and the players aren't talented enough offensively to make up for it. I think JT3 should look at what Coach K did last night when he moved Grayson (watch your feet) Allen to the PG and do the same with Peak at least for segments in the game going with a Peak, Pryor, Johnson, and Agau/Derrickson/Govan/Hayes combination. This could work in JT3's offense that doesn't value the modern PG skill set. How Mourning doesn't get a look is another question? I think III should look at what K did and take a four week sabbatical...

No disrespect to the young man, but how long could the list of suitors be for a second semester junior with his skill set?

Either the Coach did not tell them to foul or they ignored him.
Neither is acceptable.

Chocula's surgery will be longer than Allen's suspension...

Down by 8 under a minute and we let them run 25 seconds off the clock without fouling. Not that the game ends any differently if we foul but what kind of coaching is this?

That dorm is crazy. That's why Georgetown will never be able to fully compete based on facilities, even with the new practice facility. It's easy to see how much of a lure that can be to a 16 or 17 year old high school student. Yeah, but it's almost self-filtering. I'd rather have kids that are talented and aren't too into all the extra cosmetic stuff (Um, Ike that's u) and who are just natural gym rats. Steph honed his shooting on a light pole with a basket, you don't need a fancy bedroom to get results. And to act like their aren't enough talented kids out their who don't prioritize the perks is just silly... Nice to see Former GU SID Jim Marchioni quoted in the article about superior facilities...

From a cynical yet practical standpoint, who knows a crook better than his lawyer?

So our Syracuse win is virtually meaningless in the big picture....

He is a real stand up guy that Count Chocula. While his classmates from West Point were serving in Vietnam: "During his military service, he coached service teams and served for two years as head coach at the U.S. Military Academy Prep School at Belvoir, Virginia. After resigning from the service with the rank of Captain in 1974, Krzyzewski worked as a graduate assistant to his old Army coach, Bob Knight, at Indiana University. The following year, he returned to West Point as head coach." www.achievement.org/achiever/mike-krzyzewski/He makes John Kerry look like Audie Murphy...

Pivotal game. Time to play a complete big east game and avoid the self-inflicted wounds that cost us Xavier. This game could define our season. Another loss targets us in the bottom 2 or 3 of the conference. A win keeps our future hopes alive. Game must be won if Only for the sake of Dan and Provvy...

If the settlements are illegal and run contrary to American policy, and I have no reason to doubt the accuracy of those posts saying so, the only legitimate vote for the US to cast would have been in favor of the resolution. A vote against would run contrary to international law and US policy while an abstention would represent rank cowardice. Kind of like throwing internet molotovs for over a decade against one candidate and party and derailing any form of legitimate discussion but being totally and completely unable to admit who you voted for because you'd be held to something? Is it that sort of rank cowardice? Something like that though my actions impact few. Feel better now?

Did not make a preseason prediction, but I have a hard time envisioning 9 or 10 BE wins off what I saw Wednesday. If Peak misses any appreciable amount of time, we could top out this year at 14 or 15 wins.

About the only good thing to come out of last night is that any worry Cunliffe had about not getting shots must be out the window.

He had best get flattened at some point during their visit to Verizon. That was my first thought as well. Although harassing him into an ofer might be a better response. Why not both?
