On a humorous note, I was furloughed in 1995 (thanks Newt Gingrich!) when I was in Civil Division, DOJ, and considered non-essential. Me and colleagues from several different components of Civil Division headed straight to the Old Ebbitt Grill at about 10:45 in the morning after receiving my furlough notice as it was illegal to volunteer for the USG and we had to depart the workplace. Ten hours later, we'd run up a tab of over $6,000 which I put on my Amex and took cash from my colleagues. The following December 1996 I received a Christmas gift card from the Clyde's Restaurant Group worth $100 for being a top 100 customer in 1995 -- which I promptly spent at 1789 with a lady friend.
Not sure how it's a personal attack when you admit your posting here is pure trolling. Do I have to dig up all of the "I do it to get a rise out of you guys" posts you've made over the past decade?
The argument here you've adopted is that Democrats should fund the government because safety, you don't want to defend the position because you're "just parroting back what I have always heard from Democrats about shutting down the government" and if we go back to 2009, we can find lots of times where you make the argument that since Democrats have the majority, why do they need Republican votes - they should take on responsibility.
The level of disingenuousness you post with daily is hard to measure.
While our problem have been end game situations, this game screams out to me as one in which we have to play well early. If we do not get run out of the building intje first 8 minutes, I think we have a chance to hang around and maybe even steal one here. We shoot fouls better than they do and if nothing else, we are due to upset somebody better than we are.
