I always find it interesting that every recruit the staff reaches out but doesn't get the narrative on here is they turned down Georgetown. We don't know what the staff thought about this transfer or any of the prospects/transfers the staff reaches out to. Maybe after speaking with Ben Stanley, they didn't feel the fit was right personality or team chemistry wise. Maybe Coach Ewing has another player in mind or maybe Stanley wasn't interested in Georgetown. The point is we don't know. The way players move around and the decisions they make, it's hard for me to get to bogged up these decisions. The staff will find the right players. Can't miss what you never had!? You may have a point. "Reaching out" to a player may not necessarily mean an "offer". If that is the case, it would be nice if the reporting entity could report an offer was made as opposed to a school just reaching out. That would be more informative if what you're saying is true. There typically is a distinction between an offer and just interest/contact in most recruiting situations. However for transfers the recruitments are usually so fast and circumstances can change daily that the distinction isn’t usually reported by the player to the media.

Was I the only one one who was really put off by the way that Braswell was campaigning for a job? He didn't come off very likable to me. Seemed like he was saying he could bring recruits with him if they would give him the job he wants, makes it sound like he is looking out for himself when he says that instead of looking out for the kids or for GU. Along that note, did i hear him correctly that he coached a team to two championships in three years and then was fired? That is a red flag to me. It could just be new ownership like he said but given the attitude he displayed in other areas, makes me think he would be tough to work with. If I were hiring, I would be really hesitant to bring him on board based on the admittedly limited exposure i had to him through Dawg Talk. I also didn't like that he bad mouthed his teammates - it is one thing to joke about how player x or y had trouble with something while saying they were a good team mate etc etc but Braswell says that there were only 2 players on his team. That is harsh to the people he lived with and played with. Doesn't take much to soften that considerably while saying the same thing if he goes "I played with a lot of great guys who I love but Mike & I didn't have a lot of help during some of those games" or something like that. He was quick to throw people under the bus... He also throws out that Tyler Beard needed help with his studies. Whether that is true or not, I don't think he should be blasting that out. Not his place to say it and not the right time and place. When he started talking about turning down the NIT it lead to him talking about his journey to become a PRO, too bad he didn't touch on how the team felt about turning it down - did Esh involve them in the decision at all? I don't thin so. It was very controversial at the time and i dont think i have ever heard the players opinion that. I was also really disappointed that Sweetney didn't get a chance to talk. He is one of my favorites all time and I would have really liked to hear his voice on things but he is a quiet guy and Braswell would have had to stop talking for a few seconds for that to have happened. Last note, I would love to have heard Braswell talk about the NIT game against UVA or Sweets to talk about the marathon against ND. I think a recurring question asking players for their favorite game or best personal performance would be fun and would be something positive to discuss. To be fair, Wright and Freeman lobby for a job pretty much every episode. And given that Ewing and Ewing Jr worked with Braswell to get his degree, which is a prerequisite for a coaching job, it’s certainly possible that he’s seen internally as a candidate for a position on staff. Braswell was the head coach of the Wellington Saints from 2016-2018. He won the championship in 16 and 17, and lost in the championship in 18. He was also coach of the year in 17 with an undefeated season. The New Zealand Breakers hired him for the 19 season on a three year deal after a US group purchased the team (including the hosts of a Barstool podcast), but he was fired after one season.

When Henry Sims comes on, the people need to hear about his ground-breaking GUSA run. Also, who is Georgetown's Cheddar Bob? I’m pretty sure he was referring to Omar Wattad. They’ve mentioned him a few times now, though usually as “ole dirty”.

Sorry, as Polo pointed out our website has a typo that lists both GU and DePaul as T10. GU was really 10 and DePaul 11. Whew, I feel much better...and you really put me in my place. Correction made--thanks. You’re welcome!

Sorry - they picked us tied for last with DePaul. SO misleading on my part. And article is linked at top of front page of site, so I assumed everyone had seen it. Once again, mea culpa for being so aggressively unhelpful. And I don’t need to “beat up” on the Hoyas. They became a punch line, much to my chagrin, all by themselves over the last decade. Technically the front page has a typo. The actual article lists Georgetown at 10 and DePaul at 11.

Austin and Chris had already shared their thoughts on Ohio during other segments. These interviews are not journalistic, but conversations between friends. That is one reason that I like them. Not sure the love would come out otherwise. What did they say about it? Sorry, but haven't had time to listen... I summarized it a couple weeks ago: hoyatalk2.proboards.com/post/884895/thread
