6-10 225 center, Glen Mills PA: Murray, didn’t play organized basketball before this year, he has good hands, good feet for his size, tremendous shot-blocking instincts, aggressive on the boards, strong finisher, true post player. He is raw because of his lack of experience, but he has great upside. He plays Volleyball, so he is a quick jumper. He needs to develop his post skills and shooting touch. He is on Gtown's radar, and the coaches will continue to monitor his development.

under 7 foot and just started playing hoops? no thanks I assume you are joking, because the coaches have seen him and they like what they saw. He is already dominating in Sonny-Hill ball up in Philly, and only getting better. He blocks everything, runs the court and rebound. He likes contact and is working hard to improve his skills.

well juding from past occurences, it seems as though the only people who have limited experienced but still succeeded in D1 are guys who got by with their unmatched mammoth height. this kid can be tearing it up all he wants in HS, i just dont think he will have the strong enough foundation when he steps on to that shaking court in the phone booth.
not saying he isnt a hard worker, great kid or whatever you claim him to be, I just dont think he has enought time. maybe a good walk-on who can roll with the team for a year or two and start to get the feel. just don't give any of our schollies to this kind of a roll of the dice

Strong,
He's an 09 prospect. That means he hasn't even played his junior year of high school yet. The kid has some time.

I'll just trust the coaches judgment on prospects.

Thats a real strong argument to counter my point that the kid has 2 years now to catch up with guys that have been playing their entire lives. Talk about being clueless at discussing something, you don't even know the first thing about a discussion...respectully defending your point when others disagree. You sound like some stubborn little kid at recess, grow up.

If you have a problem with info that I give out on prospects, simply do not ready the thread. Since you are omniscient anyway. There must be something about the words "the coaches will continue to monitor his development", that you do not understand.

There must be something about the words "the coaches will continue to monitor his development", that you do not understand. I never said I had problem with the info you have given, I just offered my opinion on what I personally think will pan out so that maybe a healthy discussion could be engaged in. But apparently anone who doesnt want to laud this kid as the second coming is clueless? There was never anything to agree to disagree on, you never made a cogent argument to counter my point. Perhaps my first post was a little blunt but I then clarified my point and you still clearly had no intentions to do anything other than make personal attacks at those who disagree with you. Whatever, might as well lock this one up. Just dont call me "son," Chuck. It's fathers day and only one person gets that right. If you're so high and mighty, don't you have better things to be doing than arguing about college basketball recruiting with some twerp online? Get off your high horse.

I frankly would not even respond to your non-sense if it were on another thread, however since it is my thread about a prospect... The post about the kid was not meant to "spark debate". People had asked me to give more info about prospects when I mention players that GU IS LOOKING AT. Therefore, I tried to oblige. These post are not meant to debate how good he is or whether some internet poster that has NEVER seen him play, would recruit him. Since ^%&** like you obviously can't appreciate that kind of info, I will simply PM those on the board that I know do.

Why would you make a thread on a discussion board that you don't want people to discuss? No one ever said the information was not appreicated, nor did I ever say I wouldn't keep watching him as a coach. Like I said, my first post may have been a little blunt but I clarified myself in saying that I predict it wont pan out to much in the long run. Go ahead and PM whoever the heck you want or get your own damn website to post whatever the heck you want if you're going to be such a little pirss about getting your "groundbreaking" report tarnished by a little discussion.

Written rule to go by--if a guy is 6'10 or taller, and he can walk and chew gum at the same time--you pay attention--if he can defend, rebound, has timing to block shots--which he obviously does--and he's only 16 years old--he's a PROSPECT.
Thanks for info Chuck and look forward to following his progress.

Now that it has become transparent that I am dealing with juvenile, I will keep that info for people with some semblance of maturity. Problem solved. I am done, you can proceed to rant.
