I also appreciate your threads chuck, keep them coming. Also to weigh in on the semi-debate here this kid is obviously a prospect that should be taken seriously.

Chuck - please don't stop posting info such as this just because some guy who likes to listen to himself talk speaks out of turn. Rare posters but regular readers such as myself will lose out on a very valuable information source. Reading recruiting updates from people like you and RDF makes this site worth a daily read.
Thanks much.

Yes, chuck, thanks for the info. I just don't understand the nature of some people's responses to your posting.

Thank you, Chuck. This 6'10" prospect sounds good to me if he sounds good to the coaches and to you.

Also, that could very well be 6'10" without sneakers. He could really be 7'0"

Is it really that hard to understand how someone could be offended when they are called clueless after offering thier opinion in the spirit of discussion? Have my notions of accepted social norms really been that far off all this long?
I never said I didn't appreciate the info. Maybe next time you make a posting that you don't want people to discuss, just say so or something. I don't know how I became the villan in this when all I did was stand up for myself after being personally attacked when I gave my opinion. Isn't there something against that in the rules anyway? Can we please settle this, mods, anyone? Because honestly, even if somehow I was wrong, I'd like to know that too.

I don't know this prospect, but I wanted to make a comment about the potential a volleyball player has in basketball. Coming from a high school that often has the top men's volleyball program in the country, I can vouch that you must be able to get off the floor exceptionally quick, even if you're 6'10", you must be able to read a ball in the air, you must have a good vertical jump, you must have quick reactions, be agile, and be able to read another person hit a ball and the direction it's going. For a big in bball, these are awesome qualities. Rebounding and blocking are entirely dependent on those qualities, even more so than strength (witness Dennis Rodman). And this kid is actually bigger as a Junior-to-be than Macklin was as a Senior, so let's not discount his size and potential. Lastly, I saw my high school's 5-6 All-American volleyball players often go up against some of our bball players, which included Omar & Jordan Wilkes (Jamaal Wilkes' kids and both Top 100 recruits who played at Cal), and more than hold their own without playing organized ball. I'm intrigued and would love to see how this develops, so thanks chuck.

Everyone is talking about how young he is, but he is entering his Junior year of high school and this is the time to be getting really comfortable in the varsity level rather than still developing basics. I am interested to see how it plays out nonethelss. And I have a feeling that guys like Macklin and PE Jr would have made exceptional volleyball players as well (or maybe they actually were).
