Those of us who shelled out extra and/or worked harder to go to Georgetown were duped, I guess.

"It tempted me," "But it also made me realize that maybe I can be the best big guy in the country next year.
"It made me think how good I could be. If I keep working and improving, why can't I be a top pick next year? ...I think I can be a great center. And we can get even further than we did last season."
"I want to finish business here: work, get better, graduate," he said.
Asked if he "kind of liked" college, including the classes, Hibbert answered, "I kind of love it."
Hibbert for President!!! He will be the role model for recruits for years to come...

I can't help but be greedy about wanting Jeff to come back too. That said, Congrats to Jeff and Thank you for what you've done here.
On to this season, who will step up for Jeff? If you recall in just about any game where Roy got into foul trouble Jeff was able to step up. He not only scored when he needed to but it seemed everything he did was perfectly timed. If we needed a stop he get a block/ steal/ charge; if we needed a basket he would delivery, if we needed an energy play there was Jeff. His leadership is what I think we will miss the most.
That said, I imagine our season will go similarly to this past year. We may have some bumps in the road early on, though I don't see us falling outside the top 25, but by the end of the season we have the chance to be something special again.

On to this season, who will step up for Jeff? I think you gotta look at Dajuan. For the first game last season, I was lucky and my roomie got a Gtown administrator's awesome halfcourt seats. The first thing I remember Summers doing was airballing a 3. Not two seconds later, he busted it back down the floor right in front of us and picked up a block on the other end. (It could have been a nice looking rebound...don't remember...) But I immediately mentioned that I love his hustle. He has shown glimpses of 4 out of 5 of Jeff's major skills (passing being the one I'd love to see improved), but he's also shown the agression that I think a lot of us wished Jeff put out more often.

adande: concerned that he'll be another noah paige: thinks hibbert will improve he applaudes him thanks he'll take him to title. reali says no one's improved as much as roy freshman to junior. I think Stat Boy needs some credit here. This discussion was part of the ATH showdown. Prior to going to commerical from the previous segment, Reali was previewing the showdown topics and belted out a pretty high quality version of "ROY!!! ROY, ROY ROY!!! ROY, ROY, ROY!!!" Well done, sir!

Georgetown lost the Big East player of the year Wednesday for good when Jeff Green decided to stay in the NBA draft. But the Hoyas regained perhaps the best true low-post center in Roy Hibbert.
So what does it mean for the Hoyas' style of play next season?
The answer is they can play a number of different ways. The Hoyas staff has plenty of options and one apparently will include going with the 7-foot-2 Hibbert in the middle and four guards on the perimeter.
Snipped.

Others have said it, but I think DaJuan will primarily step up into Jeff's role, and PE II will backfill. With the addition of a penetrating guard and another shooting threat, I think we'll see a different offensive focus next year, which will obviously be keyed around Roy's game in the middle. I'm excited to watch us spread the zone like butta'.

He have the ultimate zone buster with Roy back in the middle and a whole new crop of freshmen that can shoot the three and slash to the hoop. We already know the princeton O can destroy a man-to-man D with cuts.

I agree about Dajaun stepping up. The comments about us getting zoned to death are legit. Beyond passing, the key for Dajuan will be cutting to the high post, turning and knocking down the foul line / middle of the paint jumper. If you noticed most of the times we were having trouble with the zone Green would do this 3 or 4 times in a row and it would immediately take the other team out of their zone. No matter what everyone says about our ability to hit outside shots - summers / PE Jr's ability to run this play will be critical next year.
IMO

Rivals blurb about Freeman in their final rankings talked about how he had the deadliest mid range game in the class. Anyone else think that could be useful against the zone...especially the 2-3 zone?

HE can hit that mid-range shot to break the zone.

Remember that Roy can hit a mid-range shot if he has to. I don't think this will become a central part of our offense, but he's actually pretty accurate from that range.

Another question: Where (if anywhere) do you see Tyler fitting back into this mix? Coach calls him the heart and soul, then we start last season with him sick, and before you know it he's our 9th man off the bench. Does anyone expect him to get more playing time or has he sort of been put in the veteran leadership/practice player kind of role?
If Wright, Freeman, or Rivers don't develop as we're all hoping, I'd love to see Tyler sort of re-enter the mix, but does it take those guys falling short for him to be a factor?
