This is Georgetown...it will not be broadcast on the internet.
As for the latter, the official answer is probably no, and if you show up in your WAG shirt, I'd bet you'll be asked to leave. But leave the GU gear at home, act unassuming, and have an alibi, and you would probably go unquestioned.

The more i think about this the worse it seems. Sounds like they're gone. If jeff and roy are making an announcement it means that they're not concerned with the lottery or the Draft camp physicals. which means either they want to come back and nothing is going to change that or more likely they're staying in no matter what. Seems very odd because one would think the lottery would play into their decision.

This board is going to crash tomorrow at 1:01pm.
Site traffic is down this summer. I wouldn't expect any problems--Admin

Sixer, Do you know the content of the press conference or are you just assuming that since there is a press conference, they will both declare. If the second, wouldn't it be possible that they could announce either way? I have never heard of holding a press conference to announce a player returning, but i guess it is possible. Either way, the wait is over my friends Sort of like how the Florida team held a press conference to announce they were coming back last year. There are three things that it could be about: 1. We have a new set of assistant coaches. 2. We have a new contract for our head coach. 3. We are losing/keeping players.

I think it is a bad sign that they waited until all the students went home. If they had good news for us they would have announced it while there were hundreds of students around to celebrate the news. Now they can announce it quietly with no reprocussions.
Also, if the school has bad news on JTIII (or no news) now that can come out with no protests.

So, any other local G-town students/alumni gonna try to sneak in with me? I think Ill try playing the cippled card w/ my cast on my foot, think itll work?
Since it will take a while for me to crutch back home, I won't be able to give everyone the instant update, but I'll either be cheering or crying when everyone else is

Why wait till wednesday then with that logic? Everyone but the seniors have been gone for over a week and they all left sunday why'd they wait three more days then.

A couple more thoughts now that I know its about Jeff and Roy and I trust that no one would mess with the university schedule like that:
There is no guarantee that they are making the same announcement. The options have always been withdraw or hire an agent - there is no difference now other than we have a time-table. Remember that either way what these guys decide/have decided they are Hoyas and whenever they leave they will be missed and their accomplishments should be celebrated - I will follow them no matter what they do next year.

I'll probably try and sneak in. And if they're holding a joint press conference i'm assuming they're making the same decision it would be akward to have one say they're staying and one say they're going at the same time.

They must be pretty secretive about this press conference. There is no mention of it on the University calendar: www14.georgetown.edu/explore/calendars/I wonder if Stig or any of the people on this board from The Hoya have heard anything.

Just my 2 cents: I have never heard of a university press conference to announce bad news. Granted, players going pro or a head coach retiring is not good news for fans, but it is good news for the retiring coach or future pro, and an opportunity to celebrate that individual's success and contribution to the university. You don't call a press conference to announce that the head coach is leaving or that players who already declared for the draft are hiring agents--at least, I can't recall of any instances. And Georgetown especially is unlikely to announce that sort of thing in a press conference. My guess is that it is good news. But it is most likely the two new head coaches. I don't see why Roy and Jeff would have fixed decisions the night before the lottery. It could be JTIII though, and that would be very very cool.

First, I think the idea that its now to avoid student backlash is reading waaay too far into things. It's now because they've come to some sort of decision.
Second, in two years of close dealing with the athletic department, a press conference has NEVER been on the university calendar. Couldn't tell if that was a joke or not, but no chance anything would be put on there.
Third, as for hilltopper's post, not even Georgetown sports information is so low as to announce a press conference about Jeff and Roy and then announce two assistant coaches.

Also just checked the facebook profiles and myspace profiles of the team - there is nothing mentioning them leaving and nothing mentioning III getting a new contract.
