While I hope Broadus does very well and I hope JTIII has an amazing coaching tree, I sort of wish we could have paid these assistants a little more and kept them around a few years more.

Good for him. He's done a great job for us and I wish him all the best in Bingo-town. We'll need to replace his recruiting prowess

Congratulations to Coach Broadus. This is bad news from a recruiting point of view, but excellent for the long term prospects of our program.
I have no doubts that we'll find a capable person to fill in, although his shoes are tough to fill. Let's hope he's able to finish the season with us and move on to Binghamton afterwards. I'll be curious to see who is lined up on JT3's Rolodex to replace Broadus and, possibly, Sydney.

this should be applauded. this shows that people are respecting JT III. when you build a program you have to expect to lose coaches to head coaching jobs. it is a natural progression. now JTIII needs to find a filler. maybe patrick ewing? that is not a crazy thought if you ask me. would certainly help with the recruiting.

this is unfortunate news. do we know that he left because of money or is that just speculation? or could it have been he wanted to be a head coach?

KB is a great recruiter and this will hurt. Hopefully another assistant with local ties will be found.

Just plain ridiculous timing here. Why couldn't this announcement wait until after the tournament? The players and coaches need to be focusing on one thing and one thing only. Vanderbilt.
Edit -- And color me a bit unimpressed. I realize you have to start as a head coach somewhere. But is Binghamton the best Broadus could have done. I would have waited another year or two...
Well, best of luck to Coach Broadus. He has done a great job and he will be missed.

This isn't about money, or I don't expect it is. This is a HEAD COACHING job. It's interesting that Broadus jumped to Binghampton and didn't wait for something a bit bigger so maybe there is some money aspect, but I doubt it was the number one motivator.
Congrats to Broadus!

you cant fault anyone for this coming out now. this is what happens this time of year, people are searching for coaches. a Kansas assistant just took a job. if assistants wait to talk about a potential job, he likely would not have gotten the job. broadus will finish up his duty with the hoyas and when the season is over in april, he will head to upstate NY.

Vermont should be shaking in their boots now.
Look forward to seeing Coach Broadus and Binghamton in the fake RAC (UMBC's gym) next seson.

You could be right about the impact of money only potentially being that he didn't wait for a bigger name to come along. Here's to hoping that he can steal some in-state recruits from Boehiem.

Tough loss for the Hoyas. Good for Coach Broadus. When prospective replacements for Broadus see that our guys eventually go on to head coaching jobs (maybe Johnson next to Princeton) it makes an assistant position at Gtown all the more attractive.

Congrats to Coach Broadus on his first HC job, and good luck in turning the Bearcats around.
I don't know if I would have waited around for "something better." The America East has been a pretty good conference over the past few years.
I wonder if Kornheiser had anything to do with this?

Good luck.
I had hoped he'd wait around for a bigger name, but who knows what the money situation was.

Congrats to Coach Broadus! He deserves a big thanks for all he's done for our program in the past few years.
His loss will be tough for the Georgetown program, but the fact that our assistant coaches are getting head coaching jobs because of their work here should help us get the pick of the crop in future assistant coaches.

Binghamton is a perfect place for Coach Broadus to wear that green suit.
