I'd much rather prefer a big west coast team than a UNC for all the reasons we dealt with previously when Duke came to town. Every kid on this side of america has something that says Tar Heels on it in their house by accident.

I'd just like to see te Big East pick up...I wouldnt mind if we played our first 10 @ St Leo's...A strong Big East, (Especially considering the draw potential if the common bottomdwellers became relevant) Can make all of our attendance dreams come true

I also think people were way off from the beginning of the year estimates. It is going to take a number of years of dominance before we are a consistent draw. Pre-season people were overhyping our ability to draw big numbers and I think that has been proven to be false, despite a solid season to date. A combination of unexciting home dates and an inability to win any of the early big games killed momentum, I think. We don't have a huge die-hard base. This is where being ranked and on sportscenter would help. I agree - that provides a lot more buzz. If we were ranked in the top 10 most of the season, we might have had a shot at very high figures, though the lack of good OOC games still would have hurt. If we were in the top 25 all season, we would have had strong figures. Besides espn, it seems the Post to a good degree gives more press to us when we're ranked and a lot more when we're cranking. Maybe not as much as md gets ...
