Next year... I have my daughter's baptism that weekend and somehow the missus doesn't understand that I need to go. Enjoy it and take photos for us, the unlucky ones.

I will be there WHEN we make it to Friday. Thurs won't work for me, but Friday is a no-brainer.
See everyone at Cafe 31...the new Cafe 31.

I'll be there and at Café 31, even though I'm not a fan of what they have done with the place. First, I don't think the "improvements" were necessary - people go there because of the location, not because its nice. Also, it has a hotel sports bar feel to it now. Some of the décor and booths with the dividers make me feel like I should be ordering a Fishamajig and Fribble, instead of wings and beers.

Can someone give me the address of Cafe 31 so that I can make sure that NYR320, Murph (lurker), and myself can be there 3 to 4 hours before tip off to get Hoya "spirit"?

I'll be there too.. looking for TIX. I share Hoopsmccan's trepidation about the "NEW" Cafe 31 and for the same reasons. But MEGAFAN and JAHIDIHOYA tell me not to worry.

Well, first off, even though the new CAFE 3 is technically "improved," I will say that it does indeed feel a little too much like a hotel lobby bar. With that said, it is under the same management and you can still drink beer and get a little rowdy. While they have replaced almost all the old staff, there is still one bartender (Rachel?) that works there from the old days, and they've hired a couple attractive new ladies, if that matters to any of you...
Also, although I'm a man who loves to try new things, there's something about Cafe 31 and the BET (over the past 10 years in a row that I have attended) that draws me back. It was never the best bar, but not only can't you beat the location, but you can't shake the bond that one forms between a place and the experiences you've had there, whether it be celebrating a big win, or unfortunately, more often than not, drowning your sorries in a few too many drinks until they shut the place down.
One of my best memories from there includes a very successful 25/+ board member pre-game NIT get-together, as well as bonding with an odd selection of Hoya fans before our run to the NIT Final. The group included a few undergrad girls, a few board members, and some other randoms. Let's put it this way, we had a few too many shots. GIGA thought it was a great idea to insist that he pay for the whole tab, on top of buying a ticket at the last minute to fly in from Seattle. The funny thing is, he came for a total of 36-48 hours for the semis and finals, toting only a camera bag filled with a change of underwear. I never saw a man hit the couch and go to sleep more quickly than GIGA at my place later that evening (or morning, haha!) Of course, we lost that final game, but it was fun while it lasted...
So, back to the new Cafe 31. I will say that as far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out, because it's hard to judge the place by one St. John's game and a DMB show. I need to experience it during an entire BET or NIT weekend to make a final judgment. Something tells me that if we bring home the trophy next weekend, many nay-sayers will be CAFE 31 groupies for life. Already, I have enjoyed doing a shot with Anthony Mason and Anthony Mason, Jr. after the St. John's win!
Also, prior to that game, I gave a big HOYA SAXA hello to Kim Frank, who probably knows me as that crazy-long-haired half-psycho Georgetown fan, and just ask others that were there, she looked physically frightened because, god forbid, a few Hoya fans that were pre-gaming knew her name and wanted to greet her. Oh well, some things never change... But I will say she has hooked me up with a random ticket or two over the years (and JahidiHoya too), and she is a looker to boot. I'll leave that alone for now...
Well, this is supposed to be a BE ROLL CALL, so I will follow up with the comments JahidiHoya left, which is that not only will I be there throughout Georgetown's run to the title game, but I will figure out a way to get into the building, and sneak my way down to a premium seat, and hopefully not be escorted out of the place, or to a holding cell, throughout the festivities. TGO and I have probably spent more BET's together than any other Hoya I know, and he's flying in from CA to witness our first BET title since '89. We will be there in full force, but I cannot guarantee that we will be sober the whole time, haha!
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! SINK SOUTH FLORIDA!
