According to today's SI.com "Truth & Rumors" Jefferson may still be at large. I can't find any confirmation to this, but here is the blurb: "An Internet report that highly touted forward Davon Jefferson has committed to USC is incorrect, a source said. USC still has not committed its fifth and final scholarship for next season. -- Los Angeles Times" sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/scorecard/02/23/truth.rumors.college/index.html Maybe someone more industrious than me can chase this down...

Well, I'm hardly industrious (otherwise, what would I be doing on this board?), but CNNSI is wrong. From the Rivals article by Jerry Meyers (lead recruitng person), they have some pretty cut and dry quotes:
"I did commit to USC. I really made the decision a couple weeks ago and then let USC know yesterday that I was ready to be a Trojan. It's a local school, and I've always liked USC. I like the program and I really like the coach. I'm impressed with how Coach Floyd has turned the program around in just one year."
Not much wiggle room there, unless he's just lying. Davon would be a luxury, but he doesn't really fill a big need for us next year. Now, a sharp shooting guard on the other hand...

USC can't officially accept his commitment until he has qualified academically. CNNSI's statement is a bit misleading in the sense that it appears as though Jefferson is committed to attending USC to the extent he shows commitment.
