You lesser board luminaries must keep your no-status having handles off this thread. This is for me and those procrastinating few who find the time during our busy [HAH!] days to post regularly.
To those who have worked hard (i.e.: posted feverishly for going on six months now) go the spoils, so come on in my fellow All-Americans, and relax in the comfortable confines of this thread.
Let's open up by making fun of the "starters," who are so collectively pathetic I doubt they could start a bowel movement.

Not too shabby, showcase. Nice clubhouse.

A couple of questions -- where's Jersey? And if the next person in is the sixth, are they really Second Team All-Americans?

Jersey has been holding out by lurking somewhere on the Blue & Gray board, which is delaying the start of our inaugural Stone Cutters - er, All-Americans meeting. I'm confident he'll come around when the dancing girls arrive.
The envy of the All-Americans on this board is almost palpable - just look at the proliferation of those "I-have-to-work-too-hard-to-be-All-American" threads. Just remember folks, we're All-Americans because we're out there posting while you people are still asleep - it's just us and Michael Jordan, getting up and posting like fiends at 4am.
I think the next person to make AA status will unfortunately have to bear the mild stigma of being 2d team; just making it to this hallowed status (not to mention having a seat near the big-screen) will have to be reward enough.

Me too, YB. Like anything, I think moving up to AA status is a matter of creating the proper incentive, giving people a vision to work towards as they strive to make it to that next level. Get the picture?

Here and I thought I was the only one who had a princess for a girlfriend! Actually, I'm currently working on some ideas for getting more alums involved in the GU alum community in general and the Hoya Hoop Club in particular. Any ideas from the HS.com All-stars?

Pardon the bump - but the fact that I found this down on page 3 was unacceptable.

THB, thanks. I saw this thread bumped up today, and feeling my oats on just turning AA (and not just the McDonald's version), I was going to post. So it was nice to be personally greeted to this august group. Hoya Saxa!!!

Lets not have our nose up in the air like UCONN and Syracuse with this "elitist" attitude. Don't forget us "little" guys. Remember, WE ARE Georgetown.

Congrats Nevada - no one has earned the title of AA by "spreading the wealth" across all boards the way you have. Your efforts have been positively philantropic, in the finest sense of the word.
Turning to more pedestrian matters, I think it time to make intruding uninvited on the AA thread an offense punishable by banning. The barbarians are most clearly at the gate, gentlemen, and it is time to stand and be counted.

I'm glad you feel that way, because that's MY comfy leather chair you're sitting in.
I didn't rush to earn my entry into the All-American clubhouse just to sit anywhere. All the chairs in the clubhouse are of the finest Corinthian leather, and all are equally stuffed, but only a few are directly in front of the 72" HD plasma screen TV, and this one is mine.
You can try to take JerseyHoya's - he doesn't come around nearly as much as the rest of the members (and I suspect the answer to why would explain how that Starter got in here in the first place).

"Hello? Anybody home??" [No answer.] "Hey, we're from your friendly Starter-Barbarian Moving and Storage Company. Can we come in??" [Still no answer. Quick check of the alarm system panel shows that the effete All-Americans have left the premises unlocked; and guarded by neither man nor electronic devices.] "Let's see .......... according to our records, the All American Club House wanted us to remove ONE of THESE ........." "And, from our own inventory of fine seating choices, replace it with TWO of THESE ......." www.metalfoldingchairs.com/im/2700.gif[/img] ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

This kind of reminds me of an great Saturday Night Live skit from 1990where Tom Hanks hosted his fifth show and was escorted into a secret room at Rockefeller Center where all the "five timers" meet...which featured a number of hosts from the mid-70's days of the show. Here's the transcript if you've seen the skit. snltranscripts.jt.org/90/90hmono.phtml
