Welcome Micah! This great news (the Hoya board's long national nightmare is over). Looking forward to your contributions this year!

Great add! Congrats to Micah and the staff!
Styles & Peavy will be a dynamic duo of forwards. Offense, defense, size, athleticism, and experience.
When we need to go bigger at the 4, Fielder and Cook off the bench.

Excellent news. Welcome to Micah Peavy. I have really wanted to get someone to bolster our defense. This is a great start.

Excellent news. Welcome to Micah Peavy. I have really wanted to get someone to bolster our defense. This is a great start. Having only seen limited experience with his play at TCU, what's the play here? Peavy is a lot like the former Jamari Sibley - great rep out of HS, can rebound and play defense, but doesn't shoot well from outside. In three years with the Horned Frogs, he averaged 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and scored six points against GU last season. Would he play small forward?

They guy who played 3 minutes a game for Ewing and then went to UTEP and Southern Utah? I'm sure Peavy is just like Sibley.

Peavy is an experienced, high level defender who is more than competent on offense. Sibley eventually found his level on the 10th best team in the WAC.

Peavy was TCU’s best statistical defender for teh last 3 years. He will guard the opponents best wing….like Davis at Seton Hall or Claude at Xavier. Meanwhile he contributes offensively…far more than Ish did.

Yeah. Just like Sibley. They guy who played 3 minutes a game for Ewing and then went to UTEP and Southern Utah? I'm sure Peavy is just like Sibley. That wasn't the reference. Sibley was a Top 100 recruit in the 2020-21 class, on his third school, now averages 9.6 ppg. Peavy was also Top 100 that year. I would lean to his defense as an asset, but TCU was a hard team to figure last season.

And you are still comparing what Sibley did last year on a bad team to what Peavy did on a bubble team.

In three years with the Horned Frogs, he averaged 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and scored six points against GU last season. Would he play small forward? Shoots with about the same efficiency as Epps, but doesn't put up as many shots, but passes well. His strength is defense. If you remember the TCU game (and didn't have PTSD from it and completely blocked it from my memory) he is the flipping TCU player who made shooting and playing tough for the Hoyas early in the game. He is a good on ball guard (who just happen to be big and athletic). TCU didn't really have another defender and whomever Peavy covered (Epps, Styles, or Heath) couldn't do anything, but Hoya learned to move the ball away from the Peavy cover. Hoyas have a defensive problem with guards and wings and Peavy is an solid option to fix that. I hadn't deleted the TCU game and rewatching Peavy just didn't let the Hoyas do much. Watching Epps attempt (as well as the dribbling the ball off his own foot) and not get advantage and not pass is insanely painful and 6'1" against a more athletic 6'7" defender think he could do something is really painful and bad ball IQ. Peavy quick passes, defense, and pressure contributed turnovers is really nice to watch. Good to know he is playing with the Hoyas and not against the Hoyas.

Hard to see him, Styles and Fielder all starting together, although I guess they could at the two through four or even three through five. Lots of moving pieces still.
