And still, with all that said, Cooley was enticed by Georgetown athletic director Lee Reed and his naked ambition. There wasn’t anything collegial or collaborative about his approach. Providence counterpart Steve Napolillo has admirably kept his cool in public settings, but you might imagine he’d have a harsh word or two for Reed in a private moment." Feel like that needs a correction - Napolillo publicly went after Lee Reed, Lee Reed kept his cool in public settings. Why would there be something "collaborative" about hiring someone else's employee?

I can’t wait for this game to be over. Twitter has been intolerable this week, and I’m actually surprised all the vitriol has been focused on Ed. If I was a PC fan I’d be at least a little mad at Georgetown’s leadership for their role in the recruiting / engaging of a coach in the same league. Some of this hate feels contrived at this point. I also think true PC fans aren’t sold yet on English, despite the vocal internet crowd proclaiming him as the next coming of John Wooden.
As far as the game, I think PC’s defense will be a problem for us. I don’t think we’ll go over 65 points. On the flip side, I don’t think we’re going to give up 80+ points either; they just don’t have that firepower. I can see a game like the UConn game two weekends ago. I think the only way we are in this game at the end is if one of Heath or Massoud can make 4-5 threes on efficient shooting.
+11.5 feels right as far as the line, but I think we might be able to cover. Much tougher to see a path to an actual win here.

Much tougher to see a path to an actual win her. This game means a lot more to Providence fans than it means to us. That said, I do think it's a winnable game (not likely, but possible). So, let's win. It reminds me of schools or fans that sometimes claim to have a rivalry with a bigger rival, yet nobody at the more successful school views it that way. Their fans have been ugly for months now, so I'd love for us to breakthrough and finally have a good game and beat them. In some (small) ways, I kind of feel bad for Kim English. The vitriol and hatred they have for Ed Cooley really just means they wish they still had him as their coach. That's got to be weird for someone like Kim English--especially since he's on the record saying he'd have loved to coach at Georgetown. I suppose there may be a chance eventually.

Poll: Who is watching the game live vs. who is taping/DVR it and doing chores, work, study, spend the 2hrs with family, catch up with the spouse , look at the sky, etc…? I couldn’t get quorum (2 Hoyas) for an alumni gamewatch. I hope we win with Epps scoring 35, Massoud 6 for 6 from 3, Cook cookin’ inside and some semblance of defense.

The line has moved a point to Georgetown +10.5. Vegas is giving Georgetown a lot more respect than I expected.

My hope is that this is the last time we go to Providence as a significant underdog. They lose almost everyone of importance assuming Carter goes pro and Hopkins leaves next year so won’t be too good. I want this one to at least be a tight game throughout, would love a win.
