Extended time is exposing Mutombo and his cement feet.

Yeah, Georgetown can go back to being lousy again. I didn't like Mutombo Sr, pretty sure I wont like Mutumbo Jr.

What I find the most frustrating about Mutombo's game is that he always seems to keep his arms below his shoulders. If there is any block attempt, it's because his hands go up at the last second. For a guy his size, he loses maybe one to two feet of effective height when his arms are by his side. Simply having them up when in post defense will disrupt a shot attempt or deter an attempt altogether.

Epps really lost on that backcout press, but Heath (who should have been his good out) just sat covered, not moving to half court line, nor to get open.

It’s crazy how good a shooting half we’ll have had and may not even be leading.

Rough stretch. Let’s clean it up before half

Credit to Fielder. He has made some nice plays during this second run after a disastrous start.

Defensive switches and communications have been pretty solid across all rotations.

Our best half in three years, and nothing can take that away.
We basically have to shoot insane from three to beat a good team. But we are capable of doing that occasionally.

Despite these announcers being disgustingly pro X, the Hoyas have been the tougher team, so far.

Good:
1. Heath. 2. Season's best 13 assists of 15 FG by halftime. 3. Fielder.
Not So Good: 1. Georgetown is 7 for 22 (.318) inside the arc. 2. 16 of Xavier's 18 points inside the arc are in the paint. 3. Epps started 2-2, finished 1-6.

Overall a very solid half. Offense was, except for the 2 flubs against the press, very good with spacing, serial screens and ball movement. Defense also surprisingly good aside from transition. Good to see JohnnyJones and ForestHills representing behind the bench.

Defense was utter trash from all the bench players. Fielder has some moments, but Bristol, Rowan and Mutombo were horrid in that half. Got come in ready to play and each of those 3 had a simple assignment blown as soon as they came in.

Not having a point guard that can take Epps off the ball for 6 or 7 minutes a half is a killer. You can see him get fatigued at end of halves. Bent over - hand on hips. Rowan has to find a way to give us 5 to 7 minutes a half - but right now he's borderline not playable.

Hoyas have done really well on so many fronts, but 2nd half I doubt they will shoot 72% from 3, transition defense needs to get back not stroll and inside defense has had men wide open and the X-men will hit them sooner or later. Trouble with personal fouls is something that needs to get better. Need to get more buckets inside and mid-range.
Love the 13 assists in one half, as that is often more than a whole BE game. 19 rebounds with 8 of them offensive is really good, plus better than the 17 X-men had.
Heath is looking healthy, but a healthy Heath is still not fast (just like last year). But, his shooting.... Dang! His defense from switches, to not leaving his man / space, good job defending really well with his feet, but also really good hands. So nice to see.
