Not sure where you heard that Epps benefited from other helping create for him. I haven't seen that level of commentary anywhere. If Rowan is running the team and serving as primary ball handler, and Epps is scoring an efficient 46...(or even 15), I have no issues with Epps and will be a big fan.. See 5th post on Page 3 of this thread, by MCI. He can discuss his sources if he wishes, but I will take his work re Rowan “racking up dimes.” Good luck v Pitt today guys, may the “secret” of the scrimmage be like a sieve. I also saw it elsewhere where they mentioned Heath didn't play and Epps scored most of his points off ball. I didn't see the Rowan part of it but someone clearly was getting him the ball.

Hilltop reports we lost to Pitt, 78-64. What are the chances Gtown fans will get to see Gtown's highlights?

The scrimmage apparently took place about halfway between DC and Pittsburgh at Allegany College's Bob Kirk Arena in Cumberland, MD.

Because Massoud got hurt a few minutes in. Sounds like x-rays on hand incoming. Soft-ish wrist splint/wrap and two fingers taped. I’ll hold out hope it’s not too serious. 🤞

It was a Pitt highlight video so it was never going to look good. Massoud was in a few of the clips and his defense wasn't great but he looked like prime Gary Payton compared to Drew. He looked lost which is understandable. Anyone expecting productive minutes from him this year may be left disappointed. He will need to shoot lights out or be a big liability.

An injury to the frontcourt? Who could've possibly seen that coming?

O.K., deep breath everybody. In the same way that we can't conclude much from a scrimmage win against Wake Forest and Epps' 46 points, we also can't make too much of losing by 14 in a scrimmage to Pitt. I think the question is are we going to give this team and coaching staff ANY room to breathe, play, and grow? A few points: #1 - we definitely are in desperate need of real games to start up so we can have something a little more substantial to discuss. #2 - all we know is the score and what Pitt put out in its 2-minute highlight video. It's a scrimmage, a somewhat formal pickup game, a time to put any combination of 5 guys out on the floor and see what's up. Not the best place to pass judgment on much of anything. #3 - we all hope Ish's hand is o.k., and let's just chill and agree that we should hold on to all our doomsday scenarios and "I told you so's" until February. #4 - remember where we were 7 months or a year ago. Think of all that's happened and where we are now. EC has had to pull this program out of the ashes and resurrect it. An almost entirely new roster is daunting enough. Then factor in NIL, the transfer portal, new team culture and vibe, etc., etc. You know the deal. Which leads us to #5 - we have to keep reminding ourselves that this is a process, this is a transition year, and that we are going to do our best to enjoy this season & support the team in the full knowledge that one year from now we are going to be liking more & more what Hoya basketball is doing on and off the court. For now, let the worries go. We're going to have some rough spots. EC has said it himself. But there's going to be a lot to enjoy from this group in the months ahead. 2 weeks and 2 days from now it all gets started. Hoya Saxa em-effers - let's go!!!!

But there's going to be a lot to enjoy from this group in the months ahead. 2 weeks and 2 days from now it all gets started. Hoya Saxa em-effers - let's go!!!! I am taking nothing away in regards to performance...scrimmages in my opinion are just a step of from Kenner and you can gain minimal insight, especially since all we have seen is about 2 minutes of assuming 80 minutes of play...and that 2 minutes was skewed to opponent highlights. That is not my concern. What is paramount is for this team to stay healthy and that is already in question at probably our position with the least depth. That is a concern and directly impacts any type of success we are hoping to have this season. I have said multiple times Cooley is getting one huge pass this year and I am a Cooley fan and yes maybe people don't like how Hoyaboya put it...but the fact remains Cooley had a rough go rounding out the remainder of this roster. That's simply a fact. Honestly plainly put...if Massoud's injury is significant we are screwed...and that won't be on the players that will be on Cooley. He's fortunate that he is following the worst head coach to ever walk the sidelines and was left essentially nothing and we have nowhere to go but up.

Hilltop reports we lost to Pitt, 78-64. A lot of Drew... Good that he’s getting experience, but he got torched a bunch in those highlights. Epps did not look good either. Pitt’s demeanor and sideline reactions make it look like they completely had their way with us. Cooley visibly frustrated at one point.

#4 - remember where we were 7 months or a year ago. Think of all that's happened and where we are now. Most of what you said was fair but this notion, and not just from you, that there is more hope going into this season than most felt this time last year and I just don't see it. Last year we had one of if not the best transfer classes on paper. We had a legit superstar coming, the guy that helped lead us to the title, the best shooting high school recruit and a few other proven pieces. This roster is not as good as last year's and I don't think its even close. It will win more games simply because we no longer have the worst coach in college basketball history. All hope right now is placed in future years not next year. The start of the Cooley era has been underwhelming to say the least. That doesn't mean he will never have success but we have to be realistic of the situation so far.
