Really nice pickup! I love efficient players who can shoot the three well.

He has a great stroke!! Shoots it the same every time. He was often first off the bench for K-State but almost always was on the court t9 finish a game.

From simply looking at stats and a few highlights, my impression is that he is similar in game to Kaiden Rice. Capable of getting super hot from three on occasion, but now much in terms of anything else on the court. FWIW...a three point specialist who you ride when he's hot, and sit when he is not, is needed on this team, so I am NOT complaining. But for those who know....does he bring more than what I have stated?

Looking forward to see what EC does in bringing in a big man and some muscle and talent around the key. If Ish is on, he will require defensive coverage which will open up the floor allowing all sorts of other scoring to happen. beenaround makes a good point that EC will have to sit Ish if he's off, and I expect the coach will do that. And not to punish, but to rest, get some coaching in, and be ready to go back out when needed.
Also, I'm resisting comparisons to Kaiden. Loved him when he was on, but truly I remember him not being on more often than not. Also, did Rice ever hit 40% from 3 outside of a hot game or 2?
The last note is Ish's defense. Not mentioned much, but fully expecting that EC will demand effort and buy in to playing hard both ends of the floor.
Ish - welcome to Georgetown. Glad you're here & can't wait to see you and the team in November!

We have been so short on players with actual skills (as opposed to talent and athleticism). Massoud will be a great addition. Plus a smart guy who covets a Georgetown graduate degree. Had an offer from Harvard out of high school. Have had few of those as well. We should own these types of players but somehow never have. He does not seem to do much around the rim (low rebounds and two point shooting percentage) but he will contribute in a position of need.

I saw K St. only in the tournament, but he does not appear to be a chucker like Kaiden, who IMO had issues with knowing when not to shoot. I will reserve judgement on D for a larger sample size. Wish he was bringing the K St PG with him.

Kaiden Rice comp I get but it is super lazy. Rice would shoot some ridiculous shots. Massoud is more controlled in what I've seen.

I thought that, but (1) I’ve only seen the highlights and (2) that shot from the logo would make Kaiden proud. Whatever Ismael does, it’s up to his head coach to control him. If he doesn’t follow directions, his coach should sit him… unlike Pat & Rice…

Short article with some more background on Ish. Can't wait to see him light it up at MSG in next year's BET.

Degree? Somebody cares about a degree? How refreshing. Given his Egyptian background, I think if Ish is looking for a worldwide NBA front office job or intentional basketball job after his playing career then a Georgetown degree is gonna carry a lot more weight than K State or even Wake Forrest

I won't presume to know Massoud's religious beliefs but this can't hurt. (But I AM assuming he's not a Coptic Christian, so there's that!) Georgetown University was the first U.S. university to hire a full-time Muslim chaplain, 24 years ago. Now, the Jesuit institution has opened the Yarrow Mamout Masjid – the first mosque on a U.S. college campus with ablution stations (places for ritual washing), a spirituality and formation hall, and a halal kitchen. aleteia.org/2023/05/06/georgetown-boasts-islamic-first-on-u-s-university-campus/
