As soon as Hoyas get blown out in first game of the big east tournament, within a week the athletic director will come out and say it was a bad year but we believe Ewing is still the man to run the program. Wait and see if that want happen. Ridiculous as it gets.

As incompetent as our leadership has been -- and as little faith as I have in them -- this time I think they all know it's over.
If they are dumb enough to run this back they will see fan involvement at as low of a level as any high major has ever seen.

A true pessimist believes that Jack D will extend Ewing's contract for garnering 2 more victories in conference play than last year! Improvement!!

I generally think it's best to expect the worst and hope for the best. And I'm hoping that we already got the worst!
I think there is enough Pitino smoke to at least think that we are out there making inquiries and having conversations.

I do think it's high time for Casual's source on the Board (who indicated that a decision has been made that Ewing will not return) to re-contact Casual and provide additional information. While the source is probably accurate, that source gets a bit shakier with each passing day and no word on when. While Jack was apparently given leeway, that must be running out.

If we get to March 14th and no word, I think then you start worrying.

The disgraceful way in which the season has ended should hasten things along, although that probably shouldn’t have been necessary.

These multiple days after our season firings would be huge hindrance in finding a new coach. There is no decision to be made. If they wait any time at all, we potentially lose out on other opportunities. Anything after March 9 is unacceptable.

I doubt Pat could field a team next year if he stayed. He’d seriously have to recruit at Yates

The complete cessation of recruiting news speaks volumes. I just hope the bandaid is ripped off swiftly.

I think one reason Ewing’s departure needs to be made ASAP and a new coach hired as quickly as possible (without making a dumb decision) is to try to, if at all possible, make an effort at keeping guys like Akok who really would be a good addition to any team under any new coach.

Do they still have the open tryouts at whatever the equivalent of Midnight Madness is? If not, I’m sure where Ewing would find a team if he came back.

The disgraceful way in which the season has ended should hasten things along, although that probably shouldn’t have been necessary. The 11 day delay in firing JT3 was inexcusable. If you recall, not only did the Hoyas lose on March 11th, but Tremont Waters requested a release from his commitment. And it still took 11 days to fire JT3. Unbelievable. I agree with TC ... this crew is so pathetic that I think they wait until Monday March 13th to say anything ... meanwhile, if they had any brains -- and frankly if they wanted to give Ewing a dignified last game in the garden -- they would have already announced that he will retire/part ways after the BE tournament. There would probably be a pretty good crowd there on Wednesday and maybe pump up the team a little. Also, it would give the TV crew time to prepare some stuff on Ewing at the garden, etc ... it has the potential to even do a little damage control ... maybe. But no .. instead he'll lose and then nothing will happen for several agonizing days. I can't stand how incompetent and tone deaf the leadership is.

I think the announcement comes Monday the 6th or Tuesday the 7th- I think they want that sendoff.
If you don't make the announcement before Wednesday, I don't think you are guaranteed that round of applause because of uncertainty.

You all really think Patrick would want to coach a game after an announcement he is being fired? He could care less about a sympathy round of applause. Monday the 13th is most likely, although I could see it next Friday to try to have the news partially obscured by the conference tournaments and escalated bubble watch.
