I already have March 10 in the pool. The disgraceful way in which the season has ended should hasten things along, although that probably shouldn’t have been necessary. The 11 day delay in firing JT3 was inexcusable. If you recall, not only did the Hoyas lose on March 11th, but Tremont Waters requested a release from his commitment. And it still took 11 days to fire JT3. Unbelievable. I agree with TC ... this crew is so pathetic that I think they wait until Monday March 13th to say anything ... meanwhile, if they had any brains -- and frankly if they wanted to give Ewing a dignified last game in the garden -- they would have already announced that he will retire/part ways after the BE tournament. There would probably be a pretty good crowd there on Wednesday and maybe pump up the team a little. Also, it would give the TV crew time to prepare some stuff on Ewing at the garden, etc ... it has the potential to even do a little damage control ... maybe. But no .. instead he'll lose and then nothing will happen for several agonizing days. I can't stand how incompetent and tone deaf the leadership is. It would be fun to see Pat coach without the stress of winning, which he never does anyway. He would be smiling on the sidelines, everybody cheering on the Hoyas, letting his starters sit after two or more dumb plays, putting Anglin in a situation to make a couple of 3s at the Garden, Bass with a few blocks and shooting 3s, etc...

Yes, and Ryan too. All those things he should have done when he was still trying to win.

Pat would not change his awful personnel usage even if he is officially a lame duck.

You all really think Patrick would want to coach a game after an announcement he is being fired? He could care less about a sympathy round of applause. Monday the 13th is most likely, although I could see it next Friday to try to have the news partially obscured by the conference tournaments and escalated bubble watch. Was he even coaching in the Creighton game? What would be the difference? At least he might get some applause and the fanbase would know things are in process.

I don't think an announcement would change the smattering of applause he would get either way. I don't think Patrick wants to coach a game as a "lame duck" coach anywhere, much less in the garden. And as much as the fan base wants to see him relieved of his duties, the school is not going to fire him and then have him coach.

If Ewing knows he is going but does not want it announced before the BET, fine. However, in that event I expect and demand a better effort than the pathetic “effort” of the last two games.
Ewing is owed nothing by the school. If he wants to collect $12 million in exchange for his utter failure, he can take whatever negative feedback he gets.

This has been handled poorly every step of the way.
The bogus search. The secret extension. Running it back after last season.
Letting this continue after the first Butler game. Letting this continue with a week between a 40 points loss and the BET.
Just gigantic L after gigantic L.
It's difficult to imagine that anyone that's contributed to the hideous decision making over the last six years would be an asset in the next coaching hire.

The ideal way to do it would be either today or tomorrow, announce a "parting of ways". That said, there's no chance they do that. If I had to guess, I'd say it drags out way longer than it should.
