The choke continues. Remarkable. I love being wrong. Go Hoyas Honestly, that's what I was thinking, as well. Post-season has not been kind to GU Lax. Great game and good job by the Hoyas. Yale was almost as hot as the Hoyas coming in to the game. UVa is going to be a tough one...

Lots to avenge next Saturday.
Hoyas match up well this year with Hoos and WILL win IF JR can stay relatively healthy AND Hincks can match Nunes in goal. Fortunately, Reilly can still be effective even if he's not 100% (as we saw against Yale).
FWIW - I heard that February's scrimmage in C'ville was even. Should be a great game - go Hoyas!

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Two years ago, after the Virginia men’s lacrosse team routed Georgetown in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament, Hoyas Coach Kevin Warne compared facing the Cavaliers’ close defense to becoming prey in the movie “Jurassic Park.” Warne was referring primarily to 6-foot-7 Cole Kastner and 6-5 Cade Saustad, both of whom he likened to velociraptors because of their length and ability to render far smaller attackmen all but helpless with smothering physicality. With the schools set to match up again in the same round of the NCAA tournament Saturday afternoon in Albany, N.Y., Kastner, a junior, and Saustad, a redshirt senior, also are back eagerly anticipating the assignment of limiting a potent attack featuring Tewaaraton Award finalist Tucker Dordevic. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/05/18/virginia-lacrosse-defense-ncaa-tournament/

14-17, UVA is a very good team...good luck to them. Needed to do better on the faceoff Congrats to the GU 2023 Men's Lax squad on a successful season (especially in lieu of last year's first round NCAA Tourney exit to Delaware as a #2 seed)! Coach Warne has turned around the program in his tenure and made it a desirable destination for elite NCAA Div. 1 men's lacrosse student athletes. That was the glass half-full version for today. Glass half-empty is the 1-10 all time record in the NCAA quarterfinals (98, 99(W!), 00, 02-07, 21, 23). Wish the program could break through to the Final Four (and beyond!) soon..... To close, though, quarterfinal appearances are still strong accomplishments for a program!

Thought the boys played a very good game against a very good opponent.
Faceoffs and one brief spell decided this game.
Program is strong and impressive.
