Until we don’t flame out in the tournament, I never believe the hype. (Reverse jinx) 😉

Well now that was what I call lacrosse weather! Clearly played out in the Swamp Dogs' favor. Nova looked quick in the first half and hung tough, but they seemed to really slow down in the second half (waterlogged?) and started making some really bad passes on offense leading to critical turnovers.
Interesting wrinkle to the regular season: Marquette has lost in OT to the top three teams Georgetown, Denver, and Villanova. Yet they will likely find themselves hosting the Big East Tournament without being in it, assuming Providence defeats winless St. John's.
I wonder if the Provy clown who filmed himself yelling at Cooley during the game at Cooper Field will make the trek to Milwaukee for a second helping of defeat. I reckon not.

We simply have to beat the Criars on Thursday, continue to show who’s who. #HoyaLaxa

NEW YORK – On the eve of the 2023 BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship presented by JEEP, the league announced the regular season award winners and All-BIG EAST First and Second Teams. Georgetown, the nation’s eighth-ranked team and BIG EAST regular season champions, earned four major awards – graduate student Tucker Dordevic was unanimously named BIG EAST Attack Player of the Year, graduate student Will Bowen repeated as Defensive Player of the Year and Patrick Crogan was voted Freshman of the Year. In addition, the Hoyas, led by head coach Kevin Warne, were honored as the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.
...
Dordevic, a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team, led the BIG EAST in five conference games with 3.60 goals per game (18 total) in his first season with the Hoyas. Overall, he leads the conference and ranks sixth nationally with 3.54 goals per game (46 total) across all 13 regular season games entering the BIG EAST Tournament. A transfer from Syracuse, Dordevic also dished out nine assists, capping the regular season with a team leading 55 points. Along with his offensive prowess, the five-time BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week has collected 26 ground balls and forced five caused turnovers in 2023. Dordevic is Georgetown’s fourth Attack Player of the Year, joining Daniel Bucaro, Jake Carraway and Dylan Watson, winners in 2019, 2021 and 2022, respectively.
...
Anchoring the Georgetown back line for the second consecutive season, Bowen captured BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year accolades and was a unanimous selection on the All-BIG EAST First Team. With 1.92 caused turnovers per game (25 overall), he leads the BIG EAST and ranks 13th nationally. In his two seasons since transferring from North Carolina, Bowen has a BIG EAST leading 59 caused turnovers in 30 games. As a team, Georgetown ranks 16th in the nation and first in the BIG EAST with 9.36 caused turnovers per game in 2023. Will Bowen is just the third student-athlete in BIG EAST history to repeat as Defensive Player of the Year, joining Villanova’s John LoCascio (2013 and 2014) and Brian Karalunas (2010 and 2011).
....
Warne and his staff won Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the fifth time. The Hoyas won the BIG EAST regular season crown outright for the second time in program history with a perfect 5-0 league record for the second straight season. Georgetown finished the regular season 10-3 riding a 10-game winning streak. The Hoyas lead the conference in multiple statistical categories, including goals scored per game (14.31), assists per game (8.08), ground balls per game (40.23), and caused turnovers per game (9.31). Crogan, the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, is the third Hoya to garner the award. The rookie from Lexington, Mass., registered 15 points on the season, finding the back of the net 11 times and dishing out four assists. Crogan also hit the target on 75.0-percent of his shots, capping the regular season shooting 21-for-28. The freshman registered his first career hat-trick in a 17-15 win over Lehigh on March 25.

19-8 over Providence is your final from Valley Fields. Now that's a better margin of victory.

Hincks has looked like a different player since he was re-inserted; and continuing to trend in the right direction. Steve Panarelli is an under appreciated analyst.

Any replay or highlight info? As much as we (rightfully) rag on FloSports, they at least make replays available, make it easy for the league and school accounts to post highlight clips, etc. CBS Sports offers none of that - you get a national cable broadcast, but that's about it. Would love for everything Big East to be unified under Fox Sports again, but the details of how all of that is hashed out are way outside of my area of expertise.

7 seed home game vs. Yale 5 p.m Saturday 2nd round would be Virginia/Richmond winner.
