Ohio U. type game turned in by Hoyas in opener; mailed it in against a mediocre Johns Hopkins team losing 13-12 (Hoyas 7.5 goal favorite). Only Bundy and Dordevic looked good, and that was early. Highly touted transfer goalie Hincks looked meh to me (saved at 50%). Would not be surprised to see Scharfenberger get time soon. Assuming we make the tournament this one will not help our seeding.

Georgetown drops from #3 to #12 in IL Media Poll. Johns Hopkins jumps from #29 to #6. Don't mention it, Blue Jays.

Men lost the Home Opener to Penn yesterday 9-7 with #2/3 Irish coming in next week. We could be 0 for February. Didn't see that coming.

Scharfenberger has to be given some time.

Scharfenberger has to be given some time. Also, stop trying to make Dordevic at attack happen. It's not happening.

At this rate it’s all but out of the question.

Terrific win 13-10 on the road vs. #5 Princeton this afternoon. Hoyas looked like a different team. To a man they played better and with more energy than they have all year. Scharfenberger provided a desperately needed spark in the cage; very active, great outlets and saved at a 60% clip.

It's funny...this reads so cliche...but cliches become cliches for a reason! www.insidelacrosse.com/article/%27we+had+each+other%e2%80%99s+back%27%3a+georgetown+beats+princeton+for+first+win+of+the+season/60854Incidentally... I have a funny story about the last (and, it turns out, only other) time Georgetown beat Princeton: The article is off by a year, it was 2007. I remember it very well, as it was spring of my junior year, just a couple weeks after the Final Four in Atlanta. It was a day game; I don't think the MSF had lights yet. Some Hoya Blue friends and I were so pumped by the Hoyas OT sudden death victory and the prospect of another deep tournament run (alas) that we decided to head up to College Park and take in the nightcap between the Twerps and UMBC. Naturally, we sat on the UMBC side, maybe 30 rows up. Our attention was quickly captured by a UMBC assistant coach who was an ABSOLUTE PSYCHOPATH, a ball of sonic energy we named Screamy McScreamerson. Well, what would you know, it worked. UMBC upset Maryland thanks to a flame-haired kid built like a tank whom we named Tugboat and also thanks to their Bellower-in-Chief. That assistant's name? You guessed it - Kevin Warne.

Chance to go on a run with the rest of the March schedule before Denver comes to town on April 1. Strange schedule though--5 straight Home games followed by 3 on the road then Senior Day with Villanova to end the regular season.

Would've liked to have seen some more killer instinct today - Hoyas had a 7-goal lead, and then let Provy get back into it and make the final minutes nervy. Reminded me of the Big East final against Nova last year.
Counts as a win in the standings all the same. That Friday night regular season finale against Nova on Apr. 28 will most likely end up being the deciding match for the title and #1 seed. Mark your calendars now!

I reflexively blurted out "Oh my goodness" (what am I, 80?) when this play happened

It still befuddles me that we got Syracuse's best player
