Finish the job that wasn't finished in the first game.

The excitement for our upcoming games is palpable. An email for the Alumni Takeover Game against Marquette was sent out-tickets for $35, they should make those FREE!!!!

Was shocked to see that - plus taxes and entertainment fee, I believe. Absolutely stunned that they were charging that much when I saw the same email.

The sky is falling on the Nova boards, lost 3 in a row and the last 2 losses were to DePaul and tonight was Butler. It's just not good and not getting better anytime soon, hmm you might be able to relate to that.

Nova game Monday is winnable, they are terrible and poorly coached. And a perfect example of the importance of coaching in college BB.

Seems like Nova’s going to be bad for awhile. Whitmore, Slater and Daniels are all gone after this year, right? If I’m Justin Moore, not sure I’d waste a year of eligibility this season and I’d think long and hard about whether playing for Neptune next season makes sense.

I have a ton of respect for what Jay Wright and his team/staff accomplished at Villanova. But their success was far more about Wright being a great coach than it was about Villanova being a "blue blood" program that would be self-sustaining beyond Wright's tenure. I think their fans are being hit with this harsh reality now.
Unfortunately - us Georgetown fans have been faced with the harshest version of this reality for the past decade or so. JTIII managed to keep us at least in the national picture, but it was nothing like the glory years of the Big John era. Heck, Big John could not even sustain his peak success when he burned out on recruiting. Maybe Villanova will find another hall of fame coach in the coming years and return to the top of college basketball. But history shows that it is far more likely that they'll sink back closer to their pre-Wright level. A best case scenario might be - a solid program that makes the NCAA tournament more often than not, and maybe wins a few NCAA tournament games some years. Similar to where programs like Providence, Xavier, Marquette are at these days. Which is a good place to be for a smaller private school in a non-big time football conference. Hey- if we could get back to that level, we would all be thrilled
But I think Nova fans are going to struggle with being just a good, solid Big East program if that's their program ceiling. And some of their fans are going to be quite upset if they don't return to the Jay Wright era level. Which, I hate to tell them, is very unlikely. Nobody knows this better than us Hoya fans!
All that being said - I expect this thoroughly mediocre, poorly coached Villanova team to beat our train wreck of a program by at least 20 on monday afternoon.
Also - note that a Butler team of limited talent beat villanova and destroyed us. Thad Matta is a serious, big time coach. Butler has had some rough games this season against talented, well coached teams, due to their lack of talent. But Matta is going to find a way to beat bad coaches most of the time, even when at a talent disadvantage.

I feel bad for Whitmore, kid is too talented to be on such a expletive team, I just hope he doesn't gets hurt and gets a good payday in the NBA. This is more of the Nova I remember and starting Baby Arch is as bad it gets and he continues to do it. There is young talent there with Armstrong, and Brizzi but you're right, they are losing Slater and Daniels also. Dixon and Daniels are clearly the better players on this team but Arch is taking time away from Armstrong and Armstrong is clearly better than Baby Arch imo. I noticed Nova and Georgetown is getting the National TV exposure on Fox this coming Monday, This is a winnable game for Georgetown, They could have a field day just getting the ball to Wahab and using their size and length. If you do full court press, Nova is in deep expletive

LMAO this is the up there with the most tone-deaf emails I’ve ever seen. “Take advantage of this special offer, brought to you by the Class Programs and Reunion Campaigns team! Grab your seats today to sit in alumni sections 108, 109, 113, and 114. Tickets are $35, excluding event processing and service fees.” Wow, only $35 plus fees to sit in the corners to watch a team announcing a 4,000-per-game attendance that has lost 27 conference games in a row. How could I pass this up!?!?

Nova game Monday is winnable, they are terrible and poorly coached. We’ve been saying all season that Mediocre Kyle Neptue and scared to shoot Chris Arcidiacano were terrible but the “experts” on here wouldn’t listen. Not a peep from them now and another feather in our cap.

Already they are danger of not making the tourney save a a Georgetown like BET run.

Neptune actually has a legit injury reason - they still would not have a legit PG, but his team could tolerate Arcidiacono at PG and would be immeasurably better with a healthy, active Justin Moore.

One of the biggest aspects of the game that is plaguing that Wildcats is their inability to finish in close games. Villanova is 0-3 in games decided by less than four points, which goes to Neptune’s point regarding the frustration levels.
“We got to get a stop at a high level, or execute what we’re looking to do at a high-level, and unfortunately we have not done that with consistency,” said Neptune.
