Ewing really is so incompetent. The Akok at 5 lineup is the one that should be playing straight up yet is in zone and the one with Q should be in zone but is straight up. Maybe Ewing has not actually forgotten more about basketball than we’ll ever know. Maybe he never really knew all that much in the first place. A great player does not mean he’s a student of the game. Ewing never played the game that is being played now. The 3 point line didn't exist when he was in college. The 3 point barrage came well after his playing time and zone wasn't allowed until his last year in the NBA. He's clueless as to the modern game.

Surprised we hung in there that long, fully expected their run, to which we had no answer. You’d think with all these iso guys, they’d be able to get a bucket and stop the bleeding but we’re still trying to post Akok instead of going 5 out on offense and spreading the floor.
Honestly thought it was one of our better defensive efforts (not saying much but still) but turnovers and bad shots gives them easy buckets.

Just as advertised. TT is shutting us down. Seems like a pull up jumper or two is available, and Murray and Spears have had some penetration, but TT quickly closed them out. I think I'd like to see the guards look to score off the dribble a bit more, hopefully get some buckets, and a little more space for our shooters.

Two players who when they have been in the past two or three games Hoyas have gone on runs and had good defensive runs as well. Anglin and Mutombo haven't seen the floor yet.
Anglin when he has been in has mostly been on ball guard, which isn't his strength, but he has done better than Primo in that role. But, with Primo passing a bit more toward the end of the have having Denver in to shoot and defend would be great.
Ryan needs some run, but Tech is a bit more athletic getting up and down, but he still can be a good match with Akok.
The half ended with a few decent defensive halves when good rotations and even a touch of zone. Need more of that.

Some of the best ball movement on offense we've seen all season. It didn't last.

Watching Spears play today and hearing his interviews this year makes me think this is how Ewing wants his PGs to play. Harris and Akinjo played the same way. Only PG that didn't play like that is TA and he had a good coach prior to coming here so he knew how to be a good PG.

I think Ewing saw Kemba Walker’s success in the pros and figured that was the best way to play.

Does anybody think Texas Tech is substantially more talented than us?
Does anybody think that if Adams was coaching Georgetown and Ewing was coaching Texas Tech, the score would be anywhere near what it is?

Actually began the game with the best ball movement I have seen from this group but could not hit their shots. Then the shots started to fall for a while and for no apparent reason, Primo (who I called the best Hoya PG in years—what a major mistake I made) decided to show off his dribbling and start forcing shots. After several bad shots and TOs Ewing took him out. Still the ball movement has flashed a little but no one can hit a shot. Have to say that this team gets nothing from Wahab against teams that are as big. Also when Heath is not hitting his shot his defense makes him a liability. Some decent minutes for Mozone and Bristol, but apparently Ewing did not bring any other players along on this trip. Overall moments of promise quickly offset by selfishness and my turn basketball and a very cold shooting slump for the last 7 minutes.

17+ minutes for each of Spears, Heath, Murray and Akok.

Body language terrible, lazy passes, not getting back on defense - if ever there was a time to hockey substitute, put in 5 new players and send a message, now is the time.
