Loyola Marymount is pretty bad, about to be 2-2 (currently getting worked late in the second half by UC Irvine). They also have injury issues, so this should be a cakewalk for the Hoyas:

The only gelling this team needs to do is the KY version before the BE season starts.

Get a life and show some small amount of respect for your fellow Hoyas. The fact that the Admins allow this to stand says a world about the cesspool this place has sunk to and the pitiful state of our fan base. Bunch of cry babies.

Wise man once said success or failure of an organization starts at the top. I’ve never been on a sports board where the fans have to experience this kind of psychological torture from supposed fellow fans. They would be banned right away elsewhere.

Aside from it being a bit crude, how was this comment off target? The sentiment about what’s going to happen to this team in the BE appears to be spot on.

I’ve never been on a sports board where the fans have to experience this kind of psychological torture from supposed fellow fans. They would be banned right away elsewhere. I would argue that fans at some other universities on other message boards are actually way worse. We benefit from the moderation of DFW/Dan, which keeps things somewhat sane. Perhaps you were being sarcastic/facetious, but I would also hardly call anything at HoyaTalk psychological torture. All of us choose to come here and post; nobody is foisting it upon us. That said, I do think the post you are referencing went a bit too far and was unnecessary. To keep this on point, let's talk a little bit about Loyola Marymount: - Loyola Marymount's defense is really bad so far. Opposing teams are shooting an eFG% of 54%, their three point defense is terrible (258th), their two point defense isn't much better (245th), they block virtually nothing, they aren't good at steals. They do rebound fairly well on the defensive end (but not on the offensive end). The defense was atrocious last year too (ranked 280). Actually worse than ours! - Loyola Marymount's offense is better than defense but not stellar. They aren't a good three point shooting team, which should help us because we don't shoot them well. BUT, they do take a lot of threes, even though they aren't good at them. - Loyola Marymount is among the lowest of teams in getting to the free throw line. - Really tiny sample size right now, but Cam Shelton is shooting 42.9% on three point shots (on 21 shots), and Keli Leaupepe is shooting 45.5% (on 11 shots). Nobody else has been shooting threes well, though. Leaupepe shot threes well last year (38.9%), so we need to watch out for him. Shelton did not (27.9%), so it's unclear to me if his high shooting percentage is a small sample, or if he actually has gotten better. This is really a winnable game for us, as long as we don't let Shelton and Leaupepe go wild from three. Their bad defense should give our guys some good looks if we can move the ball a little bit and not get stuck.

When we start playing better as a complete unit. I liked the post much better before you edited it Roc, why did you change it? I’m glad you like my opinion. But I decided to delete it because it not like you don’t know we need to move the ball, play better defense and increase our 3pt shooting. I definitely know you expect us to win a big east game. So, I believe we can agree that our Hoyas need to play like a complete unit once they have played multiple games.

Hoping and expecting to bounce back today against LMU. Wary of a team that is reported to be a mediocre 3-point shooting team - we tend not to fare well against those teams.
Let's go, Hoyas!

If Ewing does not try to change/fix the defense on the perimeter this could look alot like NW game. They are plenty big and live off the 3. Rebounding will be critical and Wahab has to get the boards to offset his defensive shortcomings. Hoping to see better shooting from deep to open up the options inside. Hoping to see more of the bench and less of Murray sulking. Hoping to see ball movement on offense and PGs driving and dishing, not dribbling around the perimeter and forcing contested shots. Either they start to gel as a talented team that is learning to play together or this game could blow up the rest of the season. Ewing could not beat LMU 5 years ago. He could not coach a decent defense. He could not control a couple of alpha guards who dominated the ball. Let's see what has changed.
