Hoyas headed out west for a tilt at Pepperdine on August 17th - surely much more pleasant in Malibu than DC at that time of year.
The other two games known thus far: at home against JMU on 9/7 and at Creighton on 9/24

Perhaps not quite as crazy ambitious as the men's schedule, but some good teams in here, most notably Stanford of course:

Been a while in the off season since I have visited the website. But easy schedule? Four of the eight are tough OOC teams (Rutgers, VT, Stanfurd, and Princeton). Need a few cupcakes to work on various aspects of the game. Did see you corrected yourself but as I scrolled down from unread posts I was surprised at your comment. Actually a pretty typical Dave Nolan schedule. Need to keep the RPI up for post season considerations. West Coast swing will be nice. Get to see them play once again.

Yeah, my initial assessment was "good, but not crazy" (the men's schedule is kinda nuts), but based on the numbers from last season, this does end up actually being one of the toughest OOC schedules in the country. LMU is the only cupcake (3-8-6, 213 RPI in 2022) and that's a road game three time zones away. The only other OOC team with an RPI over 100 last year is Bucknell (8-6-6, 129 RPI), and that would put them in the middle of the Big East (DePaul 243, Seton Hall 241, Villanova 246, Providence 177, Marquette 163). To round it out: Pepperdine (9-4-5, 54 RPI) Virginia Tech (10-7-2, 52 RPI) Rutgers (13-5-2, 29 RPI) James Madison (12-4-5, 78 RPI) Stanford (17-2-3, 13 RPI) Princeton (9-7-1, 93 RPI)

Wow. I tend not to look up RPIs but get them as a Game Day eval of an opponent, but looking at the reputation of Big East strength it becomes quite apparent why the BEAST gets one, maybe two teams in the NCAAs per year. In our eight years close to the program I always thought our rep was considerably higher--almost like Big East BB which is close to "Power 6" conference, but I am obviously mistaken. So, that is largely why Dave Nolan has to schedule tough OOC games or if he suffers any down days in the Big East, NCAA hopes diminish. Perception isn't always reality.
