I have an official visit set up with Memphis for October 6,” Flowers said. “That is my first official, and then I’ll take a Georgia State official on October 28.” Memphis: “Coach Penny (Hardaway) tells me that I remind him of a younger him. He was unbelievably good, and just to be able to be coached by a person like that, who has been through it. He knows what the blueprint looks like to be a big guard; that’s my type of coach.” Georgia State: “Coach (Jonas) Hayes has been consistent with me. He was the first one to offer me when it was at Xavier, and he has always stayed in touch with me. Right, when he got the head job at Georgia State, I was one of the first guys he offered. He is just like family at this point. For me, I’m always going to want to start my own wave with the people I’m most comfortable with.” “I just took an unofficial to Virginia Tech,” Flowers said. “For the officials, something with Louisville is in the works, also Kansas, and Alabama maybe.” “I’ve talked with Overtime Elite a lot,” Flowers said. “I’ve been in the meetings, and everything with them and have already been offered by them. I chose to come to Combine. “With the G-League, it has come, but it hasn’t come at the same time. There has been a lot of circulation about me going G-League; I like what they got going on. Matas Buzelis just went there, and another big guard they got was Leonard Miller, who is really good. There are a lot of players who have gone through there and become lottery picks." www.on3.com/news/trentyn-flowers-sets-first-two-official-visits-memphis-georgia-state-talks-unc-florida-state-louisville/

Agreed, and if he does, he's got most of the bluebloods after him. Yet, our coaching staff spent its finite recruiting time/resources going and visiting him yesterday. Brilliant!

I mean, clearly this battle is one the Hoyas have picked. If you never fight any of these fights, you never land any of these players. It is what it is.

And I'll add this: the coaching staff has some insight that NONE of us have. If they choose to continue to pursue Flowers, they've got a reason. I wish them well.

I think 5 years in you can't really say "trust the staff" with this stuff. Ewing's never brought in a top 20 recruit. Why anybody thinks a top 20 recruit would want to play for Ewing over pro leagues and teams like UNC/Kentucky, etc. - boggles the mind.

Even if so, though, can't say I disagree with this.

They aren't really recruiting Queen and that's a problem but recruiting Flowers is also a problem. Boya has a Anti-Ewing agenda behind every recruiting post.

Of course, boya needs no evidence to plainly imply deleted. I came around to agreeing that Ewing should be fired, based on results.. I also believe that boya's post is beyond board standards and some discipline should be levied.

Very true. This Boya character posts an inordinate amount and 99% of which is anti-Hoya, anti-Ewing. Sole reason why I rarely come to this board anymore. Very tedious posts.

Wasn't Aminu a top 20 recruit? Even if so, though, can't say I disagree with this. Aminu was #24 according to RSCI which takes the average of the different recruiting services. www.draftexpress.com/RSCI/The other difference with Aminu is he had a handler in charge and wasn't being recruited by legitimate programs/coaches. Our main competition was Georgia with Tom Crean and Indiana with Archie Miller. Deleted Trentyn Flowers is in an entirely different category. He comes from a strong family foundation and has offers from the top programs in the country, along with professional options. There is no chance he's picking Georgetown under Patrick Ewing/Ronny Thompson over his other choices. Just in July you were expecting a commitment but now Flowers is a no-go. Maybe he was adopted into a different family in the last 2 months since his strong family connection is keeping him from GTown. I'm pretty sure he was 5* when he took his unofficial so the bluebloods and semi-pros were coming....I don't think he's coming to GTown but if Boya thought he was committing 2 months ago I don't see why you would stop recruiting him now. At least until he closes the door.

I'm pretty sure this ship has sailed but I can imagine a frontcourt of Flowers-Ezewiro-Miranda🙏🏾at least for a few more months.

One of the elite prospects in the 2024 class will be in town for Louisville Live on October 21. Trentyn Flowers, a five-star forward at the Combine Academy in Charlotte, N.C., confirmed with Cardinal Authority that he'll be in attendance the program's annual preseason event. It'll be an official visit for Flowers. The relationship forming between the Louisville staff and the 6-foot-8 junior made the decision to get a closer look at the program an easy one for Flowers. "With Coach KP, and Coach Nolan, those are high-level guys. They've got Danny Manning there, too. Just a great coaching staff overall. Everybody was really a pro there. Coach Josh, from Oregon, he's a great guy," Flowers said. "It was really a no-brainer for me. They came to see on the first day of the live period and said, 'we want you and would love for you to be here.'" Among the discussions with head coach Kenny Payne has been the opportunity to achieve early success. "I would say that it is a solid and good relationship," Flowers said. "He believes in my game. He believes that I could be a pro. Basically saying that Louisville, they want to get guys in and out. There's no 2, 3, or 4 years, like it's one and done if you do everything that you need to do, I could be a lottery pick. I feel like they have a great blue print there and what Coach KP is doing." 247sports.com/college/louisville/Article/Louisville-basketball-recruiting-Trentyn-Flowers-official-visit-Louisville-Live-Kenny-Payne-194300086/
