Heath will be starting soon if not tomorrow. He give us more lineup flexibility. Who loses minutes now? I think we see Brandon at the 3. I've seen enough where I am fine with moving Akok to the 5 and letting Mozone/Bristol/Ez get the minutes at the 4 but I don't see that happening. Knowing Ewing he will give Brandon the backup 2 minutes and send Jordan back to his undeserved doghouse. It's also hard to see where Denver's minutes come from if coach wouldn't even play him until garbage time Tuesday. Ez will probably get the backup 4/5 minutes. The big losers are probably going to be Denver, Jordan and the loser of the Mozone/Bristol battle. Hopefully Bristol wins that one. Fast forward 5 months and we will all act stunned if Denver and Jordan leave.

Of course all of this is speculation and time will tell, but 2 things tell me what Ewing should be thinking of how Jordan gets into games and his role once he's in: 1) PE was full of good things to say after the GB game about Jordan (as was the rest of the Hoyaverse), and 2) in the 2 times that Jordan has played -- OT against CSU and 20 minutes against GB -- he has stood out. Against CSU at the defensive end, and against GB at both ends. If the coaching staff shrugs their collective shoulders and is resigned to have him sit just because the addition of Jay Heath makes things more complicated, then we all lose. There's no way they can have him sitting down with his tremendous athleticism and energy every minute he's in. If PE is stuck in some narrow mindset that can't see past a 7 player rotation that leaves Jordan Riley out, then his coaches need to get real and clear with him. Look, we all probably agree that Murray and Spears can't log 40 every game -- take 7-8 minutes off each and you find 15 minutes for Jordan -- that's just one scenario, but you get it. Figure it out and keep running high energy guys at the opposition.
About Mozone and Bristol -- Bristol had a much better game 2, and Mozone has been decent, but indications are that he has not hit his stride still. i like both players, and I think there's room for both but prefer Mozone right now (if I had to choose). The guy's played a lot of ball, his 3-point shooting is much better than what we have seen so far, and he is that guy who quietly can give you solid numbers over the course of a game. I think he has some leadership cred (just an impression) and I really liked the way he put a bear hug on Riley and ushered him off to the side after that technical late in the CSU game. Plus, he looks like he can dance and doesn't mind getting the bench going in front of a crowd of people. Seriously, whoever is stepping up in practice and during the games should get more PT. I think we'll see what the coaching staff is made of with this luxury of riches here and choices and decisions we sure didn't have the last few years.

You have to figure Heath is going to get 30 minutes a night so taking those 7-8 from Primo and Spears only gets you half of those. The other 15-20 have to come from someone. I also don't see Ewing taking 7-8 from those two. He is coaching scared this season. I think he will play them as much as he feel he needs to. I agree I would rather give minutes to Denver and Jordan. I am just speculating on what I think Ewing will do. As for the Mozone/Bristol discussion I think the best player should be whatever minutes there are. I just hope its the guy that is going to be here next year. I don't think there will be many unless Ewing takes a bunch away from Wahab.
