I think thedragon basically has it right. If no waiver for Heath:
Primo, Murray, Mozone, Akok, Wahab 6. Anglin 7. Ezewiro 8. Riley
If Heath's waiver comes through, he starts and Mozone is the 6th man.
We'll probably go deeper into the bench OOC, and guys like Bass will get an opportunity, but the rotation likely shrinks to 8-9 by the new year. We all like Ryan M of course, but to play regularly he's probably going to have to outplay Ezewiro (barring injuries) and I'm not sure I'd bet on it. I don't think there's room for all 4 of him, Akok, Wahab and Ezewiro to play regularly come conference play. Same probably happens on the wing, if Heath and Murray are playing they're going to eat a lot of minutes and there won't be PT for all of Mozone, Riley, Bristol and Bass to play regularly. Hopefully that leads to some healthy competition.

I think this is stating the obvious....but with Dante and Heath in limbo (whatever we want to call it, don't care about the semantics), Denver Anglin immediately becomes one of the most important players for this season.
I was generally a Dante defender, and honestly was a little shocked at the excitement for Primo given their statlines were nearly identical last year. But I figured between the two of them you could ride the hot hand and have an experienced point guard on the floor at all times. And people started to talk about Heath as a viable backup PG as well, where you could go supersized lineup etc.
And now....we're Primo / Murray with really only Anglin to back them up. And it's really putting Anglin in a tough spot where I'm not sure the backup PG role accentuates his strengths. Although in reality when he's paired w Murray then Murray is the creator with Anglin spotting up. I really thought the backcourt was going to be a strength in terms of depth, and we didn't even make it to the opener.
The other big question for me from the rotation is do we see more of a small ball steer when Q is off the floor. Sounds like Ewing is open to Akok basically being the starting PF and backup Center. Is that always going to be Ezewiro at the 4 as the backup? Are we willing to slide up Bristol or Mozone and really stress defenses with a 5 out offense. Maybe Bass but Im personally a buyer of Bristol, he has to show he can shake off the rust. Ewing did it last year with lesser personnel so to me its absolutely on the table. He could just go Q / Ryan at center and Akok / Ezewiro at 4 but I think that underutilizes what Akok could do as a center with rim protection and switching ability who can shoot.
We've almost made it.

We've almost made it. Losing one of Harris/Heath was fine and maybe even beneficial in the long run as I don't think lose much on team performance and would provide more time to keep Anglin happy and around since he has the highest ceiling. I was worried there were going to be too many mouths to feed and Anglin would be too far down the pecking order. Losing both means Anglin is the backup PG which is not his best position as you mention. If last year holds true Primo is very inconsistent but now we are forced to roll with him nless Denver proves he can handle extended PG minutes. I envisioned Heath getting a lot of PG minutes this year. Also Mozzone goes from what I think would've been limited to minutes to a starter roll. I am not very high on him but we will see how that goes. I hope Bristol shows well and takes that spot since he will likely be here next year and beyond. Do we really want to extend Akoks minutes by making him the starting 4 and backup 5? That seems to be asking for trouble based on past history. I think EZ will get the backup 4 and 5 role to start and if engaged may even eat into Q's minutes. I think Ryan will be improved and if his outside shot has developed he could be a weapon. I just don't think the staff thinks that or else they wouldn't have made the moves they did. He seems to redundant to Q to get meaningful minutes and we know Ewing will always defer to Q in the situations that call for a traditional big.

Anglin at 6-2 will have to play pg at the next level anyway. Too small for wing or two guard in the pros. So might as well start the transition/learning now.

Hopefully loyalty counts for something. He did not bail on us after the abysmal season. Did we not hire some good assistant coaches??

I'm not at all convinced we hired "some good assistant coaches", particularly on the player development and Xs/Os side of things. It's possibile that Nickleberry is a decent recruiter, though I think he's overrated in that department as well.

I think it's a fair question on Akok but I was going off one of the reports from the first scrimmage where that seemed like the plan. In terms of the injury risk, it's absolutely there but I just don't know how to handle it. Guys who suffer an injury are injury prone until they're not and vice versa. Maybe it comes down to me just being a little skeptical on Ryan but if he proves he can really handle backup center minutes then it certainly gets a lot easier.

Bristol looked like he could contribute in spot minutes in a supporting role and was miles ahead of Jordan (Bass too tbh).

Bass is interesting because athletic guys are usually trying to speed up the game and so it's a bit of high reward, high turnover situation--but Bass plays very within himself. Doesnt force shots, doesnt force drives, makes smart plays. He has to get more consistent with the outside shot to get time in my opinion, but I think he could contribute in the near future.

Howard is considered one of the Ivies of the HBCUs. They aren't getting the talent that NSU, Central, A&T, FA&M,or even Hampton. It will always be harder to win at Howard and I know that you know this.

Most Mid majors will have terrible OOC records. Especially HBCUs. At Howard he did have a 3rd and 4th place finish. Which for Howard is equivalent to winning the BE for GTown🤷🏾♂️
