For three seasons Q has never kicked the ball out, I don’t expect him to change his stripes.

If he doesn't change, it's on the coaches in my mind. Just because he hasn't done it much in the past doesn't mean he can't or won't but more that he hasn't been asked to do it and so that part of his game isn't there (yet).
But if I'm Q, I WANT to develop that aspect of my game. And if I expect to have any good looks from the NBA, I MUST develop that aspect of my game, right?

In fairness he wasn't routinely double teamed early if it all, most teams wanted him to be the scorer. The Navy coach said it after they beat Gtown a couple years back. There aren't a lot of options to kick out to in single coverage

As mentioned, if Q wants to play in the NBA he needs to exhibit that he can read the play as it develops and make the correct decision about shooting or passing. I think Q developed quite a bit between his freshman year and his sophomore year, but being a willing and capable passer was not a skill he showed much of at all. He needs to add that to his game to make him a more effective offensive player, help improve his stock with NBA scouts and to help his team.

He could be absolutely horrible in his second stint (in which case bench) but I’m just glad we can now add him back to the BET tournament run one shining moment highlights.
That in itself is a win

That in itself is a win How do you figure his second stint could be horrible? It's not like he went to UMD and forgot how to play basketball. No reason to expect anything less than his sophomore season, given his numbers per minute were similar at UMD, which would put him as a top half of the BE center. Perhaps he struggles with some matchups, but this nice thing with next years team is that we have depth to go small when the matchup dictates. Long story short, seems like suggesting any downside south of solid BE center is unfounded.

I would like to see: 1) A quicker decision of kicking it out when double-teamed; and 2) at least a reasonable threat of a mid-range jump shot (I know this is unlikely).

Maybe it’s a sign of change, but I heard about this from Georgetown Basketball social media before getting the word anywhere else. (I know the rumblings have been going for weeks, but the actual scoop). Welcome back Q💯

I am very excited to have Q back (deficiencies an all pursuant to many posters on Hoyatalk). We essentially swapped Tim for Q….and I’d take that all day long. Q was certainly one of the reasons we made a tourney run (in fact….we don’t do it without him) and I will take a guy who will average 12 and 8 over anyone we have manning the middle now. If we ever need to play small ball we can but for the time being…this is one of the biggest wins in the off season for us. Q will win us some games this year.

The key is to create an offense with Q in the game that is more creative and less predictable. He will win us games even if the offense is just pass to Q and get out of the way but we can be better than that with good coaching and a willing Q.

I would have to think that teaching him to pass out of a double would be an easy thing to practice too.

I would have to think that teaching him to pass out of a double would be an easy thing to practice too. I would say this is a more general comment and not Q specific, but I would also like to see off ball cuts to make it easier in those situations. It's really easy to say pass out of the double, but if the double comes from the weak side and the easy outlet pass is cut off (or the player who made the entry pass then cuts through) it's a really difficult pass across court. If that person was cutting or there was off ball movement that would be much easier. Now clearly Q has issues as he had the same problems at Maryland, but even in our standard pick and roll offense the other three guys are just stationed on the perimeter too often.

23 points, 7 boards and 3 blocks today vs LaSalle. Shows he can be effective when the team makes it a priority and the guards look for him.
Hats off to the excellent free throw shooting too. That's a very exploitable skill for the Hoyas.

He was looking for the pass out as well, but as was pointed out in the game thread when the ball went in not much movement on the perimeter happened. Something else for the team to work on.

Did he get to wear the championship belt to the postgame press conference?

Offensively Wahab is very predictable. Catches, takes one dribble and shoots. If you don't double team him he will kill you. If you do double team him there's a large percent chance he will turn it over. Particularly in the first half LaSalle did not double team him.
