St. Pete beats Kentucky in OT! I could not be happier. The St. Pete's coach is amazing. He managed the game into OT with a team that was out classed talent wise but showed great heart. He would make a great coach and I assume St. Pete's is a Catholic school. Just saying...

Hurley lovers UConn loss. Ewing can’t coach. Lmao! FYI - a 21 game losing streak is more indicative than one game this week.

If Willard does indeed depart for College Park, Holloway likely among candidates under serious consideration to replace him.

Creighton just survived vs San Diego St. It will be really impressive if they win the next game.

Holloway's salary of $244,097 is the second highest employee at the school, behind the president.

Not a doctor, but I’ve had 3 major knee surgeries, and the sort of pain he looked to be in was all too familiar. I don’t see how he could avoid surgery watching that and I’d bet on a long recovery. Tearing a meniscus or MCL doesn’t hurt like that.

Pay a hungry young coach and assistants instead of our current NBA star. Play in a smaller venue where we might be able to create a home field advantage.

Tournament is about survival. In ‘84 we survived SMU in the first round game. Ewing tipped in a missed free throw to secure the win.

Biggest similarity among the winners today is that they played consistent defense and kept the opponent in the 50’s or 60’s. You don’t need to have five star athletes to do this. Just solid schemes, good coaching and players buy in to fulfilling their roles. Until we do these things we don’t stand a chance to be a good team/program.

What’s the diff between this thread and the first and second round thread?

This one is just round one and doesn't have the magnum opus review that is in the first post of the other one. I can certainly fold this one into the other one.

Agreed, also not a doctor but I tore my ACL and MCL and his reaction looked just like mine - down in a heap in pain and unable to walk and put any weight on the leg. 1981 medicine, spent ten days in a Navy hospital and over a year before returned to full duty.

kbones17 - My thoughts exactly. Basketball is a team sport. MJ, Bill, Larry, Magic, etc., did not win championships. Team concept and knowing your roles did - along with good coaching and mentoring of course. In my opinion, there is not a greatest player in a team sport - no one can do it by themselves.
