We’re so far away from this: I beg no one takes him this year and maybe just maybe I will start buying tickets again for the following season if the people in charge turn their brains on and get Neptune. Only concern is if said scenario happened and Anderson gets booted STJ’s first call is Neptune i would think

I actually think Georgetown would be very competitive should they choose to actually go through with a legitimate search.

I don't know if we would have been more attractive than Louisville, Maryland, LSU or Florida though.

Willard going all in on DMV recruiting while Hoyas stand pat. . . depressing. Willard said he will have his staff in place by the end of the week, and it will be “very heavy” on assistants who are familiar with the D.C. area. Recruiting local talent will be crucial as Willard rebuilds, and he’ll have the draw of a new practice facility. Evans announced that the money needed to cover the building’s $40 million price tag had been raised by donors. Construction is set to begin in January, with a timeline of about 18 months until completion. Maryland is one of the few high-major schools without a basketball practice facility. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/03/22/kevin-willard-maryland-basketball-introduction/Clearly established and stated goals, a plan of action, and a timeframe by which to adhere to. We could only dream of such things.

Not with the folks in leadership they won’t be… it’s easy to blame the presence of JT2 as a deterrent last time but we’re now all witnesses to the incompetence of the folks who lead the program, why would any candidate with options come?

Interesting, because Kimani Young, assistant at UConn, who I, still holding out hope that Ewing will retire, see as a possible BE caliber head coach, had been pencilled in by many for the UMass job.

Don't know about that but I do like this thought on him.. The number one priority for any staff has to be to get the most out of the roster it has..

Grant McCasland (178-81, 10 yrs.) is a much better coach than to go to SMU, which was seeking to recruit him from North Texas. UNT was 24-6 this year without a lot of top talent.
At 45, he's got a high ceiling, and as a 1999 Baylor grad, would be on speed dial should Scott Drew ever leave Waco.

Kevin Willard said that he watched "Steve Francis and Joe Smith play together @ Maryland" growing up and then referred to Juan Dixon as Juwan Dixon.
UMD fans are already livid lol.

It's not like Willard dominated the Big East. Strange hire. Turgeon was a better hire at the time because at least he learned from the master (Calipari) on how to "recruit" Was there really that much demand to get Willard from any other school?

Outside of Sean Miller it’s hard to find any other newly hired coach with a better resume than Willard? Archie Miller did well at Dayton but fizzled @ Indiana. After that the list is Golden, Gates, McMahon, Paris ect… I would go with Willard over all them

He has only won one more NCAA tournament game (in 5 appearances) than Ewing and the same number of Big east tournament championships in 12 years at seton hall. He is a loser who basically said when starting the job at Maryland "I've loved seeing Georgetown greats like Gary Munroe and watching Otto Porter and Jeff Green play together."

Willard brought Seton Hall back from irrelevancy so that has to count for something. Hopefully, for their sake and for the conference’s sake, Holloway can take them to the next level.
