My only rooting interest left this year is for us to not finish 0-19. Beyond that it’s really tough to get into these games anymore. Sure I’ll watch, but honestly not sure what I’m getting out of it to watch guys like Carey, Tim, Rice, etc gobble up minutes when guys like Beard or Mutombo, who might be part of the future rebuild, get stuck on the bench.
Usually in a losing year you get the benefit of watching your young guys get experience and build for the following year. Not so much with this team, so it really sucks any of the reason to watch intently. If/when we get a win, not sure I really care one way or the other on the outcome. Does it really matter if we go 18 vs 2-17 or 3-16?
So long as we start fresh next year, it just feels like we are playing out the string of games, and with players who won’t be here next year taking up precious minutes, there’s just a feeling of apathy I can’t help but to have watching these games.

I'm with hoyalove4ever. Yes, of course, we have every reason to feel frustrated, sad, apathetic, miserable. But today I'm enjoying the anticipation of watching our team tonight and I'm glad for that. There's always the possibility -- however slight -- that I won't have my hopes raised up only to be destroyed yet again with a second half that's hard to watch. So, I hold out hope for that -- and besides, who wants to be walking around all down in the dumps and bitter anyway? Life's too short, man.
Let's go, boys! Hoya Saxa!

Well you will most likely get to see a record or two fall as Rice will definitely be close to the single season record for 3s and attempts. Wish that record would have actually helped us win though. Plus if Aminu gets drafted this year it will be our first player drafted in a while. Same rule applies to the Rice records and winning though. Since we are only seeing bad records fall it will be nice to see at least something good. I enjoyed seeing Carey get his 1000. These kids don't have a lot of positives so it would be nice to see them get a few wins these remaining games even if it doesn't matter in the long run.

Rooting for the Hoyas to pull off the upset and bring home a win.

I sometimes lose sight what this means for the kids who put in a lot of time and energy to this program like Carey.

Sad, just very sad. Thought at first it was a Casual tweet but boy if it comes to this from DePaul… My biggest fear is that recspec boy is still there on the DePaul bench and gets some late run…

Fewer minutes: Harris, Rice, Igoefe More Minutes: Beard, Billingsley, Mutombo I'd like that too, though Ryan's already starting to play more mins than Tim. I think we'll continue to see that going forward, even if he doesn't end up starting (tho I don't know why he wouldn't). Unless somebody's on fire on a given night, I don't really see a reason for ANYONE getting more than 30 minutes in a game. That alone would get Beard an extra 5-10, and keep everybody from tired legs. No one on this team (except maybe Don?) has proven that if he's having an off night, you can bet he'll play through it at some point.

I do like the idea of PE giving Tyler a whole lot of run tonight...... after all what's to lose? Probably a lot more to gain.

Pantelis Xidias has left the building. His LinkedIn profile said he graduated in 2021 and works for New York Life in suburban Chicago.

I will be surprised if we keep this game close. Fully expecting a 15-20 point loss

Things I would like to see tonight.
1.) Ryan getting the start. Even though he has been getting the most minutes lately from the centers he deserves to get a start from that effort. 2.) Beard get more minutes however even if he is coming in for Dante I would rather see Don take over point. Hopefully that will take some pressure off of him because having 30 TOs in under 300 minutes is not what you want from your PG. 3.) Better decision making from the players. Aminu has mostly improved his decisions on the court so let's see that progress to others around him like Dante and Rice. I don't expect much change out of the staff being it has been 5 years and a lot of the same but these kids haven't been here that long so they can improve in this area without a ton of guidance. 4.) More lineups with both a center and Jalin because he has been asked to play out of position a lot this year. 5.) Clean up the TOs which pretty much points back to number 3 on my list. We had 19 last game and it was really everyone. No one valued the ball. The game really started to get out of hand when Collin basically handed the ball to Bynum and then Rice played the worst defense I may have seen on a fast break to give them an and 1. We proceeded to have 4 more TOs in a row and I think one more and 1.
