Pleased to see someone misses these threads. Time to reclaim the narrative.

UConn is a tough matchup for the Hoyas. They are an experienced and deep team that is full of high level athletes. I think the Hoyas have played much better the last two games and I am hopeful that improvement will continue, but this will be a tough test for them against a very good UConn team

I’ll be interested to see how we handle Adama Sanogo, a VG big man. Big East All Freshman and Big East All Tournament. We worry about threes, but we’ll also be challenged inside in this one.

We have 3 centers which equals 15 fouls. Does Ryan Murombo get off the bench this game? (I recognize that Wilson and Mutombo will likely be physically overwhelmed by Sanogo - Ighoefe needs to step up).

Useless piece of trivia. RJ Cole is the last D1 player still playing from Bob Hurley's legendary St. Anthony's program.

Ithiel Horton has been in and out of the lineup at Pitt -- dealing w/ off-court legal issues. Ogheneyole Akuwovo - Binghamton. Xander Rice - Bucknell. Daniel Mading (long ago GU interest) - UC Riverside.

Pleased to see someone misses these threads. Time to reclaim the narrative. Yes, thank you for starting this thread. Would always rather talk during the season about games than the status of the program, coach, fan support etc. This is a matchup nightmare. Almost certainly the post play is going to be a serious mismatch. UConn can score from the perimeter, but they are not always consistent. Their guards are decent but not great 3 pt shooters, but then how many times have we said that about an opponent and then watched as they morphed into marksmen from deep. Would very much like the Hoyas to use all 15 fouls in the post and press to slow down UConn coming up court, but not certain that the Husky guards will struggle as much with our pressure. Overall, while victory is never impossible the path to victory for this game is not obvious to me, barring some extraordinary shooting from deep and intelligent play in our halfcourt offense.

We had good effort against Nova. I would like to see that continue. It would be great to get a win against a hated foe, but I am not holding my breath. We shall see what happens. A Hoya game always is a positive thing I am grateful for in my life, even if the outcome takes years off it.

UConn isn’t a great shooting team (sans last year when we played them in CT), but inside they pose a problem for us. Tim has to play a lot of mins because Malcolm or Ryan simply aren’t equipped for their front court. Conversely we will have to shoot well again and Carey and Rice need to both be on for us to have a chance here.

Last year we lost this game by 16 in our last regular season game. Haven’t seen a line, but hoping it is something less than that number…

Need Tim to play passable D in this one so it’s not just lob/dunk city on us. Would maybe throw in some zone, pack it in and see if they can shoot over the top.

Game is on CBSSN as is one future game. With DirecTV, I must change my package to one costing $50 a month more in order to watch the game. Are there any other ways to get CBSSN?

This is a tough match-up for us. Their inside play and athleticism. Tough match-up for us last year and it wasn't pretty.
Hoping for a better outcome this year. We'll see.
Go Hoyas!

Traditional UCONN, with tall lengthy center, tall lengthy power forward and 6-9 tall lengthy small forward.
This team beat the current #1 team in the nation.
Their 4 loses have been by 4 points, 3 points, 4 points and 3 points all to top 25 teams.
This team is probably one of the best in the nation.

Yes, I agree with most about this being a tough matchup. But I have faith we play competitively to stay in the game. We must press and make the game ugly. Let’s go Hoyas!
