Traditional UCONN, with tall lengthy center, tall lengthy power forward and 6-9 tall lengthy small forward. This team beat the current #1 team in the nation. Their 4 loses have been by 4 points, 3 points, 4 points and 3 points all to top 25 teams. This team is probably one of the best in the nation. [Post 4, Monday 1/24 8:20 PM] Obviously, a stiff challenge awaits the Hoyas tomorrow. UConn is big, strong, athletic and deep. Hoyas will need positive minutes and production off the bench, which, as I write this, I feel good about, even as I notice I am holding my breath... Breathe, Miracles '87, breathe, we need you tomorrow... In a game like this, ball security is paramount. There is simply no room for error here, Georgetown cannot have little mini turnover orgies. Dante and Tyler have to be as precise as they can be. Dante has to be hitting his spot ups, Carey needs to stay hot, Rice needs to stroke it, and Aminu has to convert. FYI, my quoting of Professor Hoya counts as his Post 5, make sure he knows so he's not suspended on a technicality

Game is on CBSSN as is one future game. With DirecTV, I must change my package to one costing $50 a month more in order to watch the game. Are there any other ways to get CBSSN? CBS Sports Net is on HULU; you can probably get a free trial.

Were these photos intentional? They look like my 2 year old got hold of the camera. What the hell are they trying to convey with these? At any rate, they should keep the plane running. This game is gonna be out of hand by the first tv timeout. If you were designing a team to be the worst possible matchup for us, you’d design the UConn Huskies.

I agree that this is probably a sure loss but Vegas has us 15.5 point underdogs. I liked how we played for 34 minutes against Nova and think one could make some money tonight by taking the points.

Try to have fun, keep it close, and see what happens... This sounds like something a 5th grade coach would tell his team. Which, all things considered, seems about right.

A duffel bag, somebody's back, the wing of a plane. I think that we should do better than that. But who knew that the team used the Foo Fighters jet? That and the victory over Lower Canada Community College may be the highlights of this season! 😁

At some point the other Big East coaches get on a call and decide to stop beating up on the Hoyas to keep everything status quo right? Much like they all laud the wonderful job Ewing is doing whenever they get the chance. For that reason alone give me the +16!

Some folks must be so angry that they have to take low blows like that. Of course that was not meant to be advice to the team- that is my very generalized outlook at a fan- one who is shell-shocked like many others, but still glad and PROUD to be a Hoya fan and who is looking forward to the game. If only we could focus on supporting the team, rather than attacking fellow fans. Go Patrick and Go Hoyas!

We can all rest assured now that Don Carey does in fact bring a carry on bag on the team plane.

GAMEDAY!!
Not too confident about this one. Definitely will need a hot shooting day from everyone (not just Rice and Carey). Tim and Malcolm/Ryan needs to use all 5 of their fouls. We aren't going to have many breaks for the rest of the season with the COVID rescheduling, hope the guys don't run out of gas late.
GO HOYAS! BEAT the Huskies!

Let me pick you up a beer, a hotdog or a pretzel or something! This is my kinda guy!

I would like to see some old school fight in the team. Nobody comes into the paint without getting roughed up. Rebound and collapse inside. If they hit a bunch of 3's to win, so be it but try something different. Balance out the Beard/Harris minutes better. Keep battling!

It’s time call out the haters. Hoyaboya and Hoya9797 are the cancers on this thread. Never anything positive toward our team and coaching staff. What are their agendas? Do they hate coach JT2 legacy? The coaching staff and players need our positivity and support.
Warning: Do not insult fellow posters. Disagree is one thing, name calling is another. -Admin

The coaching staff and players need our positivity and support. You keep using “hater”. I do not think it means what you think it means. But I’ll let DFWHoya answer you with the following two October 2021 posts, i.e., before the Dartmouth fiasco: To an earlier point, I dispute the idea that there are "haters" on the board. People are frustrated, but that doesn't mean they root against the players. Ewing's challenge this year is that he really hasn't yet moved Georgetown beyond this 7-8-9 tier, and that goes all the way back to 2016 with JT III. What will it take to get Georgetown in a top tier with Villanova and UConn, each and every year, given its institutional commitment? This is the season where a lot of Ewing haters on this board will try to lie to those of us on here who know the reality about our team and it's chances to be at the top of the conference. These same people on here are going to be petitioning for Ewing to be fired claiming that he doesn't know how to coach regardless of what people in the industry are saying which is Ewing can coach! There are no "Ewing haters" on this board nor anyone "petitioning for Ewing to be fired" - anyone who has followed Georgetown basketball would attest to his place in the program. And if you were here in the Craig Esherick era, this board is downright quiet in comparison. Notwithstanding, Ewing enters year 5 in a challenging place. Fair or not, the Big East tournament title elevated expectations. He is the most highly compensated employee at the University with results that, excepting four days in March of this year, have been underperforming. I would be concerned where the mood of the fan base (and the University) is next spring if this is a team that returns to not meeting expectations. No one is saying that Ewing can't coach. Every Big East coach can. But if Georgetown had hired Tom Crean instead and we are sitting here talking about a possible 7th or 8th place finish in year five, where would your thoughts be?
