I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this game. We're not talented, but neither are they. We also don't have the usual size advantage that will just power a team over a low major opponent. We do have Tim and Ryan offering good size but they don't have experience and are both almost total unknowns at this point. Take care of the ball and rebound and we'll win an ugly game. If we don't take care of the ball and Dartmouth can hit open shots, of which history shows they will have plenty, then we could be in danger of one of the worst losses in program history.

What are you talking about. Their tallest guys are the 6-10 225 lb Serbian freshman and 6-9 son of Larry Krystowiak and them some 6-7 guys. Between those 4 guys they will somehow patchwork the center position.

We may or may not be good, but to say we’re not talented seems like a bit much to me. We have a couple key contributors from the BET Title team and brought in the #16 recruiting class including a 5 star McDonalds All American. Sounds like talent to me… Whether that talent translates into wins this season is the question.

Some of you need to take advantage of the free tickets and get your picture taken with the Big East Championship trophy that you seemingly deny exists. Be sure to touch it to make sure it's real while you're at it. Actual games cannot get here soon enough.

The lack of talent is definitely relative ... I think it is pretty safe to assume that the Hoyas have more talent and ability than Dartmouth. And yes, whenever Georgetown plays a team like Dartmouth then it is a potential "worst loss" in program history. You realize that Dartmouth is scheduled for our first game for a confidence building win, right?

Dartmouth plays BC tonight on ESPN+. Who can watch the game and provide a scouting report? Anyone?

Sorry, but Tim and Malcolm with their combined 6 mpg career averages don't count. But I will be there to celebrate the new season and watch the new-look transition Hoyas.

With Qudus, Pickett, Bile and Sibley gone, our front-court has never played together. It is the definition of patchwork. I just hope ours is better than theirs.

I was planning on putting it on for at least a little. I mainly watch the Big East games so I will be watching Creighton at that time but will have that on my laptop. Duke and Kentucky at 9:30 so I will probably throw that on once it starts.

Thanks. Any impressions of Dartmouth you are able to share will be appreciated.

This is objectively ridiculous. How so? Please explain. While we do have more players that are tall than they have, does that equate to a size advantage that will just power us over them since we can just throw the ball inside and score all day? In this case, with us having 0 experienced bigs with a track record of scoring, no. Objectively, are we talented to the point where we don't have to worry about this game? No. We are the better team, almost definitely yes, but not by a lot. If they have a hot shooting night it's a tossup. If they don't we'll win and ugly one. If Dartmouth shoots over 37% from 3 and loses I will be surprised.

He didn't say patchwork, he said, " We also don't have the usual size advantage that will just power a team over a low major opponent".Simply not true. Tim is 7-0 with a 7-7 wingspan, Malcolm and Mutombo are both 7 plus. they have one guy at 6-10 (a freshman stringbean) and then the 6-9 Krystowiaki son.

It should be pretty obvious from my other posts that I am not overly optimistic about this year's team, BUT we should have a lot more talent than Dartmouth, and we absolutely should be the better team by a good margin or, a lot. Dartmouth did not play last season, but they have historically been among the worst of the Ivies. Under their current coach, they have never been ranked on KenPom higher than 205, and they are projected at 280 this year. I am not saying the game will be an easy win, necessarily, but this absolutely is the type of game that high major talent--including a five star recruit--should handily win.
