Yeah, I don't know how this season is gonna shake out for us but if that Maryland team is 21st in the country. This year in CBB is gonna be terrible. That team doesn't have alot of talent on it. Q is their best player by miles. Ayala is UMDs best player and Hart is good also.

His minutes will probably be down compared to last year and he won't be the focus but he should get a lot of exposure and some good numbers if they continue to play like they have the first 2 games. A lot of opportunities to clean up on the boards and get second chance points. I'm sure they will play a team soon with some more size and it will be interesting to see how he plays that game. He also hasn't been doubled much at lest this game he wasn't. His numbers tonight look great. He's the star player on a ranked team. Hard to argue with the move, much as it pains me to admit. The man has already reached 60% of his assist total for all of last year, so apparently he's a little less of a blackhole at UMD...

Ayala is UMDs best player and Hart is good also. I think Scott is a good player too. Maryland’s whole starting 5 is very solid. I think Wahab will be their most consistent player throughout the season even if Turgeon doesn’t want to run sets for him. Their success will mostly lean on Russell and Ayala though

Game Summary 11.11 ...and thank you for everyone adding in information, updates, etc - that I have missed...that will probably happen on every update.
BIG EAST: - BE moves to 12-0 combined on the season but much of it has not looked pretty or easy to date.
- Providence ended up dominating Sacred Heart in the 2nd half last night after a lackluster first half. Watson had a double/double and I think will be a problem for most teams in the BE this year. They had 8 guys with 7 points or more and 6 guys through the first 2 games averaging 8 points or more. Feels like it will be committee/hot hand approach for them most nights. Did shoot well from 3 last night (42%).
- Creighton, whoa what a mess. O'Connell is certainly going to have some good night and highlight reel dunks and personally I think down the line Nembhard will be a very nice 4 year player for them, good bball IQ BUT they simply don't have the talent if you ask me right now. I don't think it has anything to do w/coaching, offense sets look fine they still play smart but you go from guys like Zagarowski, Ballock, Mahoney, Bishop and Jefferson to this crew and it's going to be a long year. When you offense is predicated on shooting the 3 and you hit 18% of those shots, that's a problem.
- On a fun side note Kennesaw St this is year 3 for former NBA player Amir Abdur-Rahim as head coach...I had no idea...get used to that statement.
FUTURE OPPONENTS: - I am going to try to keep this focused on OOC opponents and more likely opponents coming up in the next 2 weeks or I will be listing 10 games a night.
- That being said TCU won last night. That's about as much analysis as I can give right now, knowing nothing about the program. Every night I feel like I have a transfer surprise...last night was Damion Baugh is now at TCU. I really liked him out of HS. Did not work out at Memphis, was awful from 3 but remember him being a hard nosed defender.
OTHER: - SO...I was going to come on this board today and declare the sleeper of the PAC-12 is going to be Az St...tell everyone look at talent on this team that is bound to put it all together...Kimani Lawrence (Top 60 recruit 2017), Marcus Bagley (Top 30 2020), Luther Muhammed Ohio St transfer (Top 80 in 2018), two great veteran transfers in Marreon Jackson and DJ Horne and a Top 30 recruiting class to boot. I was going to look so smart...and then they lose to UC Riverside on a 60 foot buzzer beater. What do I know.
- MD and GW - I had plenty to say but you guys covered it all. Wahab dominated on the boards last night, they don't seem to run much for him, will be interesting how involved he is when he has a legit center to go against and can't rack up points off offensive rebounds. He took an 8-10 footer that looked awful. The kid behind him Reese didn't have a good game but he has ton of potential and may even steal minutes from Q as the season progresses. Credit where credit is due though, he dominated down low last night.
TONIGHT: - A million games but one clearly stands out. Nova and UCLA. #4 and #2. Great chance for a big road win for the BE. Kick in the balls...game is at 11:30PM EST, everyone get their naps in - should be a good one!

I know it's fashionable to dump on the guy, but he was a good player, almost certainly way better than any center on our roster this year, and we will miss him. I am curious to see how he does in a different system.

Kind of rooting for a Nova blowout that slams the brakes on the Bruins hype.

Xavier once again didn't look good. They finally pulled away mid second half and Scruggs looked good. I'm sure they are missing Freemantle and will be better. I was watching the Xavier game so I didn't see much of Butler but looks like they played way better tonight and their offense showed up. Marquette is not very good and playing another tight game with New Hampshire. They may loss this game.

Lewis with clutch shots from the line and a good defensive play in the last 20 seconds to help Marquette hold off NH.

Just watching the LA vs Nova game now in overtime, tbh don’t feel great about some of these calls against our comrades, when UCLA defends hard it’s “good physical play” but whenever nova defends even half as hard it’s a foul.
Also the espn commentators being very transparent about bias lol

That San Diego roster is crazy town. 4 of the 5 starters are transfers - Earlington from SJU is one. 3 of the 4 top bench guys from last night are transfers - incl. TJ & Gultekin. USD has been so disappointing for so long, they might as well try the Eric Musselman "Everyone is a transfer" method. At least they have a great little gym and an incredible campus! And UCSD beating down Cal at Haas is frankly hilarious. Berger with two timely 3's in USD's road win over Nevada... HOW IT HAPPENED
Brown-Soares set the tone early in the first half, scoring the first four points and swatting a Nevada shot in the first four possessions of the game. Townsend gave USD a 12-8 lead with eight straight points, including an and-one drive, a layup, and a triple. Brown-Soares blocked five shots in the first 12:22 of the first half. A layup from Pinchuk and a three-pointer from Berger put USD up 34-25. The run got up to 21-4 after a triple from Bryce Monroe. At halftime, San Diego led 48-32. The Toreros shot a scorching 57.6% (19-33) from the field in the opening 20 minutes. Nevada scored the first 15 points of the second half to cut the deficit to two. Berger ended the run with another triple.usdtoreros.com/news/2021/11/12/mens-basketball-mens-basketball-stuns-nevada-75-68.aspx

Wow, San Diego State and South Carolina lost today. Interesting… BYU is always pretty solid, and SDSU lost all their deep threats from last season (last year Aztecs had 3 excellent shooters—all seniors). So far does not look they have replaced them. Unless something changes, the book on the Aztecs this season will be to pack the lane and dare them to take outside shots. Will be interested to see how Hoyas play today. SDSU will be a good rest because of their always strong D, but if Hoyas are competent and well drilled, no reason that game won’t be a win for the blue and grey.

Niagara hung with Ohio State pretty well last night so that close win isn’t as bad as it seems.

It was very interesting seeing Wahab nailed to the bench at the end of Maryland’s loss to George Mason.

It was very interesting seeing Wahab nailed to the bench at the end of Maryland’s loss to George Mason. He still struggles to guard on the perimeter. Mason's big (Oduro) can step out and his inability to guard in space was leading to a lot of open shots for their perimeter guys. It's the same things you saw last year when we played against bigs with a similar skill set. Turg's solution was to go with a more mobile guy at the 5 in Julian Reese. Reese is Mikael Hopkins' brother btw. Ironically one of Colorado's guys that cooked us in the tourney plays for Mason now. He banged 6 threes and went for 24.

Well, duh.
They constantly double-teamed Maryland junior forward Qudus Wahab, making him uncomfortable in the paint, and the Georgetown transfer finished with eight points and five rebounds in a season-low 16 minutes .
“It’s a combination of great double-teams and the game was moving really fast for him,” Turgeon said of Wahab. “Our guys [were] not getting in the right spots to help him. He was dribbling when the double-team was coming.”
