I’m saddened to report that longtime board member and Hoya alumnus Stephen D. Reed, known here as SirSaxa, died peacefully with his family August 19 2021 after a long battle with cancer. His contributions here over the years were always welcome and many of us were privileged to meet him in person at Cafe 31 and a variety of Hoyas games. He will be sorely missed not only by his family but by his Hoya family here. His obituary fills out what an impactful man he was. www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/greenwich-ct/stephen-reed-10326841RIP SirSaxa

So sorry to learn of Stephen Reed/SirSaxa's passing. We have lost another link to the era of Hoya Basketball predating the glory days of the Big East.
May his memory be a blessing for his family and friends. Requiescat in pace, Mr. Reed.

As a long time board member - SirSaxa is a name I recognize as old school. Rest in power my friend.

I had the pleasure of meeting him 20 years ago at a game watch in NYC. There were only four of us from the board, so we were able to sit together at a table and chat. He was so enthusiastic about the team and quite knowledgeable. Glad our paths were able to cross. RIP

Thank you for sharing this news. Praying for his family. This puts everything into proper perspective. We are fans of a team. We take it very seriously at times, sometimes too much so. The obituary puts a life to a screen name. Sir Saxa, thank you for your many years of fandom and positive energy.
God Bless

He was so enthusiastic about the team and quite knowledgeable. Glad our paths were able to cross. RIP Around that time, he invited me, a complete stranger but fellow board member, to his home for a gamewatch with his family. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it for family reasons. Rest in peace, SirSaxa.

shame. any idea what class he was? Age seems to line up with '73?
Correct. He received a A.B. degree from the College in 1973. --Admin
