Man, this schedule is shaping up to be the nastiest in quite some time. I wonder how many of these games are home-and-home deals? 'Cause that could make for a great seasons tix package next year if OOC you have Michigan, Oklahoma, Illinois, Oregon, plus JMU somewhat locally (at least there will be some of their fans in MCI making it a bit rowdier) and then one tough road OOC game at Duke.
Way to schedule 'em, III!!

Curious quote from that article. From JMU's coach talking with Rob Burke:
At least JMU is supposed to be young and rebuilding this year. It will be their opener on November 21, so Monday before Thanksgiving.

How far is JMU from DC? Is this another potential roadtrip? The 21st is a Monday, but its the monday before thanksgiving and most students will probably be heading home the following day (and so they'll not be focused on class Tuesday and thus willing to be out at a bball game the night before).
But I'm not really sure how apart the schools are.

This game is a great addition to the schedule. JMU is considering at least a peripheral DC area team and they do occasionally take some decent DC area recruits, i.e Jason Miskiri. Playing JMU will get at least a decent write-up in the papers and it looks good in the local area to play (and hopefully beat) the other local teams.

JMU is a good 2-3 hours from DC. best way to go is head all the way out on I-66 to Front Royal, then south on I-81 for about, oh, 30-45 minutes.
Alternatively, you could head southwest to Charlottesville and then west on I-64 and up I-81. That's a solid 2:45.
Why we play JMU the year AFTER I leave Charlottesville is yet another example of my peculiar luck.

KG - is this your dream game or your worst nightmare? this is my dream game...i work out in herndon right near 66...i can make it to jmu in about an hour and 30 minutes from here if i take a few hours off that day - dont want to hit the nasty traffic heading west after the people from front royal and points beyond head home from dc i have never had a problem rooting for georgetown when they play jmu - the school who gave me my economics degree that i display so proudly on the wall! now if kim frank can just get me those tickets!

I'm sure I'll get yelled at and I'm very pro playing even somewhat local teams, but a 305 RPI? On top of the Navy 304 RPI. BEing road games will help with the messed up math on road wins counting more no matter who you play, but these RPIs are brutally high.
Oh well, I guess it all evens out with Duke, Illinois (who will be down this year) et all.
Lot's of good home games next year...
This year could be the year of the road trip to actually see our Hoyas play!

It may be true that this year's JMU squad will be much better, and as a road game it does not hurt too much, but their 3 year average RPI is 276, so it is not like last year was too much of an aberration from recent trends.

I beg you folks... please don't mention Ms. Frank on the board. It will only get me started, which can only result in my lifetime ban from posting here again.

ok well if you look at last years final rpi rankings for caa...you will find only 4 teams with rpi's higher than 200
as long as they arent one of those teams we should be fine

We need to have a couple cupcakes to start, so they might as well be cupcakes with some teeth.

You need a couple of cupcakes and local cupcakes are much more entertaining then playing SJSU or schools like that. A couple of W's versus the big boys coupled with a tough big east schedule and I think III is looking at seeding as much as he is looking at just getting in.

This road schedule is making me think we pay MCI center by the games played there, not by the season . . . anyone know how our lease is structured?
