This game definitely will be more interesting than playing a non-local cupcake. I don't think our lease is per game - I think it is for a range in number of games with a post-season NIT option for a specific amount of money. The weirdest thing was the comment that we have a scheduling imbalance with home games. So far I think we are road warriors. The last 2 non-conference games need to be at home.

I've never seen anybody get so excited about playing JMU?? they won 4 games last year. You think Georgetown has attendance problems JMU can barely get anybody to show up. If georgetown doesn't absouletly just demolish them then there is something wrong.

Don't know about MCI games- I strongly suspect it's by game with some minimum of games per season- but I do know this, I love this move. #1, it IS a homecoming for Tyler- he grew up 15 minutes south of H'berg in Staunton, VA. #2, the crazy way the RPI is now, it behooves us to play lots of road games. #3, JHU is not very good. #4, it is IMMINENTLY roadgameable- about an hour and 45 mins from DC. 66 to 81 South is the fastest way; but taking old US rt 11 is FAR more rewarding. You get to see the majesty of the Shenandoah valley, along with a lot of cool, small towns and GOOD FOOD along the way. VERY worthwhile. I'll drive.

Did some one say very worth while drive?? - the only problem about a big HB road trip to this one is the date - Monday before Thanksgiving. I will bravely lead as many bus loads of HBers that want to go down there but I'm not sure if it will have the same kind of response that the Navy date will.

I actually think it might be to our advantage. Since it's a short week I think most people will be mailing it in in terms of studying and going to class. I also think, that, in general, most students leave on Tuesday or Wednesday morning for the Thanksgiving holiday rather than Monday, so most people will still be around on Monday night. It sets up nicely for a roadtrip--head down to JMU monday night, get back to campus late monday night, sleep, pack a bag tuesday morning and then hop on a train/plane tuesday afternoon or evening to head home. You're probably right that it won't get the same response as the Navy roadtrip, but I definitly think that there will be some people who want to head down to JMU to take in the game.

The problem with the week is that there are a lot of tests and papers due during the week and if people are leaving on Monday or early Tuesday they might not want to go to JMU. Still you are right that there will be some people who will still be interested in bussing down to JMU.

Well since you started it, I'm going to play devil's advocate and offer two other reasons it might be hard to do a HB roadtrip to James Madison (didn't we already play them at MCI like 2 seasons ago?):
1. I imagine it's harder to organize any kind of roadtrip for a weeknight (M-Thurs) no matter when it is.
2. This game is three days after the Navy game you're already doing a roadtrip for. If you're all for doing two big events like that in three days, go for it. But either the strain of planning two things at once or lack of interest in one or the other will prob. kick your butt.
Now if we were playing JMU in football (and, uh, if we were a little better compared to them in that sport), that'd be something to go watch.

Even if we only do a roadtrip with like 10-20 people in a few cars, thats still a ton of fun and we have to do it. We have to figure out a way to do a roadtrip.

Yeah, Obviously the Navy roadtrip is the focus and we want a ton of people on that, but even if its just a bunch of us die-hards going down to JMU in a car we have to do something. After doing a roundtrip to South Carolina in one day for the NIT game last year, JMU sounds ridiculously close to me. 16+ hours of driving wasnt too bad, so 4-5 def wont bother me.

The Navy trip may be funded. Don't know about JMU, but it's still a great time and a great drive, even for a smaller group. It's not a long drive, and could be a great time.

Maybe we could get one busload full of people to go to JMU? Like 50 people give or take? I don't think thats an unreasonable amount to expect, and it'd be easier than trying to squeeze into people's cars and such. I don't know how much it'd cost to get one bus for that night, but if it's not too bad it might make more sense than trying to carpool.

Yeah, we're not rich though so I'd rather save the big bucks for Big East roadtrips and so on rather than JMU. If we have to carpool then we might as well do it for JMU, money is tight in the realm of Hoya Blue, and Georgetown in general.

Money tight at GEORGETOWN? Wow. That's a shocker.
