The East Regional will be held at University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida from May 26 to 29th.
The Regional meet serves as a preliminary round for the NCAA championships. The top 12 finishers in each event move on to the National Championship meet at Hayward Field, at University of Oregon. Hoyas are well-positioned to advance a strong showing of athletes to the championship. Good luck to all Hoyas!

Looks like the weather will be in the high 90s in Jacksonville next week, unfortunately.

I don't know why they schedule these prelims in the hottest and most humid parts of the country. Probably because the SEC is dominant in the sprints. I am all in favor of having the eastern regionals in Maine!
Thanks for posting these. You beat me. Do you have your tickets to the NCAA finals right there in Eugene?
I wonder if Robert will run both the 5000m and the 10000m.
EDIT: Yes, Robert will the double.

Mary Hennelly smashes her personal best by five seconds and runs 10:17.13 in the 3000m Steeplechase racing at the @trialsmiles @citiusmag Qualifier in New York City
This time would be enough to qualify Mary for the Regionals, however I believe it came too late.

In the "we don't get any respect" category, Track and Field News has only one Hoya in the top 10 at the NCAA final; that is Robert Brandt in the 10000m and he is predicted as #10 (the top 8 score points). Earlier predictions by T&F News had better listings for the Hoyas.

Earlier predictions by T&F News had better listings for the Hoyas. I saw the updated form charts and didn't bother passing them along because I think they overlooked three or four of our guys, and severely underrated Robert (and overlooked him in the 5,000). I have a tendency to view things through Hoyas-Grey tinted glasses, but I think the men will outperform the T&F predictions. Good luck this week to all our runners! Go Hoyas!
