Absolutely no information to base this on, but that just seems like it would be a long shot to me. Given the way this program and athletics dept operates, I wouldn’t put the chances of a return after dismissal very high. I think he seems to be a very good kid by all accounts and his statement was classy, whether he wrote it himself or not. If the university sees him as deserving of a second chance than I believe the program should too, given that his conduct was deemed detrimental by the university and not the program itself to begin with. Agree on all counts

But what did he do? I read the entire thread…no speculation?
I know I have zero right to know - but I’m so curious!!!

Agree on all counts Agreed as well. Whatever the issue was, this seemed to be a university decision rather than a team decision. Maybe the delayed roster/announcement was due to Ewing fighting to keep his player enrolled (I'm admittedly speculating). A college kid made a mistake. He isn't the first and he won't be the last. He seems to have responded with maturity and seems genuinely remorseful. Here's hoping he learns and grows from the experience. Without knowing what was said or done, I'm also hoping that he is able to eventually rejoin the team and, having grown from this experience, become a leader in the locker room.

Tre was explicit that no one was hurt by his indiscretion. I don’t think he would say that if there was even a hint of sexual impropriety involved. To me, more likely an acade,ic issue like failure to attribute a source, though I am not sure that falls under Student Code of Conduct or some other disciplinary sphere. But speculation is foolish when we can respect Tre’s privacy and move on with our lives. Agreed. The suggestion about conduct involving a female student is basically calling his public statement a flat-out lie. I think that’s tremendously unfair. Even worse than the Hoya or Voice reporter (forget which) who was over-interpreting Wahab’s statement to “confirm” that his departure was due to academic concerns. The craziest part of throwing out this speculation is that it takes half a second of reflection to realize that it’s pretty unlikely to have been anything to do with sexual impropriety. If they had gone through the whole process and found he’d done something…I have a very very hard time imagining that he’d then be welcomed back. Solely from a PR standpoint, it’d be terrible to find someone “guilty” of something like that and then welcome him back. Plus…possibility of repercussions far beyond the campus walls. Not a go home and reflect kind of mistake. Also seems unlikely that the team would be putting out vibes that they want him back if he’d done something like you’re insinuating. Like…why even go there. You have no basis to think it’s sexual impropriety instead of, say, plagiarism (which is an academic issue than can come up in the first week of class, and would make a lot more sense to me). Or if you do, then stand up and say it. But man…what a dim view of people that you immediately go there.

It is a bad idea to speculate... with that said my first thought based on his statement and the result, I thought maybe inadvertent plagiarism which is something that can happen and can get you suspended/fail first offense, I just hope he can come back and will to help out

Agree that it smells like an academic issue. We may never know for certain.

That’s enough wild speculation. All of this does nothing but cast aspersions at a student. I’m sure most of you would react like his uncle did if internet knowitalls posted unsubstantiated rumor and frankly slander about your kid in a place like this.
Enough.

That is correct... "Transfer Tre King ‘left speechless’ by recruiting visit to Wichita State basketball After a brief stint at Georgetown, he entered the transfer portal again last month and Wichita State was one of the first teams to reach out to him. With head coach Isaac Brown and assistant Tyson Waterman making the push, WSU was the first official visit King has taken since being in the portal." www.kansas.com/sports/college/wichita-state/article255826601.html#storylink=cpyAs hoyaboya mentioned there is something in our favor. He basically has to hope he can get a waiver if he transfers. Kind of risky given how old he is. "The new plan for King, wherever he ends up committing, is to join the team for the second semester of this season and apply for a waiver from the NCAA. “I would love to come in and play right away and be a part of the team,” King said. “But I don’t know if the NCAA will allow me to. Wherever I commit, the plan is to come in at the break.”Read more at: www.kansas.com/sports/college/wichita-state/article255826601.html#storylink=cpy" Georgetown transfer Tre King is nearing a decision as he finishes up his college visits. King averaged 14.6 points, and 6.2 rebounds and is likely to choose between Wichita State, Missouri, and Iowa State, he tells 247Sports. Wichita State: “The visit went really well. I really enjoyed it. Coach Brown, Waterman and the rest of the staff have done a great job of opening their arms to me and my family. The guys on the team are all good people and the city of Wichita is great. The atmosphere really felt like home.” “Coach Brown basically said he needs a forward that can score the ball. He said they have scorers at every position except for the forward spot so he would need me to come in and score.” Missouri: “This visit is going well. We just got in last night and had dinner with coach Martin and the rest of the staff which went well. Today we are going on a tour of campus to meet the support staff, going to watch their game day routine and the game later this evening.” “Basically they want me to come in and score, which is the big thing around all three schools. To come in and add another scoring piece to the team. I feel like what sets me apart from other people is the fact that I'm a match up nightmare. There's nobody who can really guard me. If you're smaller I can take you in the mid post/post, if you're bigger I can score on the perimeter or get by you and attack closeouts. Iowa State: “Our relationship has been good. Coach TJ has been really adamant on how much he wants and needs me out there. They're really excited to get me out there to see everything. I'm excited to see how everything plays out. I'm going to have a tough decision in the next week or so.” “The biggest thing is that they know that my goal is to get to the NBA. I believe I'm an NBA guy and so do they. The biggest pitch they have is the amount of transfers they put in the league but also the role he needs me to play. He needs me to come in and be a leader and score the ball. He believes that i'm a guy that fits the build of their program of good character and a hard work. That's all I want to do, to bring what I've done at Eastern Kentucky and the short time I was at Georgetown to wherever I decide to go.” 247sports.com/Article/Basketball-recruiting-247Sports-transfer-portal-Tre-King-Missouri-Iowa-State-Wichita-State-175621045/

Not in the Aminu thread it's not. And, he was released by the University, not just let go from the team. He's gone and he's not coming back.

I doubt he plays this year if he transfers. NCAA, I am asking for a waiver because I violated the student code of conduct (and I was the only one involved and am the only one to blame) and got kicked out of school. So he has things to think over on top of breaking a bunch of promises.

That thread's locked - so I couldn't post it there. Head on over to pro/college sports board and start a thread right next to the Qudus, Akinjo and Mac post-transfer threads. Nobody on Sienna can stop Aminu!
