Got a kick out of this article today, especially since we all fit in the different types of fans they listed.
The Eternal Optimist The "Fire Pat" Twitter Reply Guy The New Student The Upperclassman The Lifer The Young Alum The Old-Timer The Player-Specific Bandwagoners The Pearl Clutcher The Chaotic Good
Even though I'm not a lawyer, I think I best fit The Young Alum group.

I wished I never read the article because it doesn't seem like I fit any of these. So let me make up one for myself. The type of fan I am I would call my type...."Cradle To The Grave". Or, I will call my type "Thompson Family Tree". I'm the type of fan who will root for this team until the day I am on my deathbed or until the Thompson's family tree is broken. So perhaps once Ewing is gone, I won't be watching and caring for college sports anymore unless someone, for Georgetown comes who can capture my imagination or has an impact on me like Coach Thompson and Ewing did some many many years ago.

Young alum, including the lawyer part. Except “Princeton offense” makes me smile, not cringe, because it reminds me of the winning in the early JTIII days.

Can't be considered an Old Timer unless you sat in the "Animal Section" and really thought Jim Barry, Jimmy Brown, Steve Sullivan, Owen Gillen, and Frank Hollandoner would carry us to national prominence.

Check, check, check, check, check, and check. We were carried to national prominence by beating NYU (ranked) on national TV, but not the prominence that followed that game.

Been there...done that..."pass him/her up!" ( a person stretched out in a lying position would literally be passed up by the crowd from the bottom of the bleachers to the top...
