I guess this boils down to :
- does he play at Duke? - does he play at Milwaukee? - will the Georgetown hat be an ugly knockoff they got off of eBay?

LOL.....I hope he goes with the traditional Navy with the Gray "G"... Classic!!! I love those, and it's a great look, but I'm a pessimist so I'm betting on one of those ones with the giant oversized 1980's Jack the Bulldog.

I agree there. I don't think u go on sportscenter to announce you're playing for your dad. Even from the beginning Duke and Milwaukee were going to be on his final list. The fact we are mentioned in his final 3...makes me think while he loves his dad, and coach k has been on him for yrs...I think he chooses gtown. I don't see how baldwin would lead gtown all the way down this road if he wasn't coming. I don't think us being in the final 3 means anything more than us being in the final 3. I do think it would be weird to go on sportscenter to announce you're playing for your dad though unless maybe his dad wants it for publicity for the program.

If this was the plan all along...which maybe it wasn't...the timing seems so bizarre...not to say all of a sudden he makes that school a dream destination but he commits 2-3 months ago there is a very real possibility he could have attracted a few talented players with so many transfers this off-season. I totally respect the choice. He could have taken the easy route and gone to Duke. However if part of the intent was to also help dad next year and long run I think the delay really hurt getting some additional talent around him...

Maybe they both love each other and it is feel good moment for both of them on National tv. It is one thing to announce on National TV your commitment, but to commit to your Dad is probably a special moment for the family.

looks like the rumors that Patrick Sr. was on shaky grounds in Milwaukee were probably true. AD and president probably hinted that his son committing to school would get a one year extension. You can't fault the young man for looking out for his dad. Good luck to him. Hope they have a great year and meet the Hoyas in the NCAAs

I'll be relieved when this is offer.

This is a big decision. He is still a teenager. Let's keep that in perspective. Imagine yourself at the age trying to make decisions. lol
Playing for your Pops, playing for Duke or playing for a storied program like G-town. Tough call. Probably why it took so long.
Whatever he decides, it is his decision.
We'll be okay either way.

So the school decided to give the coach one more year IF his son comes...with his son likely making many millions in a year, I could see the coach telling them to stick it...but I certainly see the loyalty angle from his son...

UW-M doesn't sniff the NCAAs, Baldwin or no.

And to your 1st point that's why I think he chooses gtown. If the Duke folks don't think he's coming...I could see his dad giving his son the blessing to be coached by Big Pat. 2 of his aau teammates transferred from duke...the optics just don't seem right going to Duke.

More likely a situation where Baldwin Sr. would want an extension if Baldwin Jr. were to come as opposed to Milwaukee dismissing him for not bringing in his son. At 47-70, Baldwin Sr. would be on the hot seat under normal circumstances. He didn’t use his son to save his job. Fixed on edit
