Not a bad choice for TJ. USD has an absolutely gorgeous campus, and a nice on-campus gym (the Jenny Craig Pavilion, aka the "Slim Gym"). USD always trying to compete with the big boys in the WCC, but never quite seem to figure it out. I'll root for TJ this season when I go to my 1 USD game a year.

Best of luck to the young man... Marcellus Earlington from St. John's transferred to USD also, also on their roster is Yavuz Gultekin who Gtown had some interest in a few years back...

So, it was all about the beach, all along. And the Padres.

Great place for him to land for his specific skill. San Diego was 313th in the nation last year in 3pt %...great opportunity in that regard...

And a good Jesuit school. Happy for him.

Looking forward to watching this kid develop here in Socal. USD has been down recently but seems to be using the transfer market for a quick turnaround.

So the "TJ was just here for a year because the Ivy's didn't play but there was an agreement between him and coach all along" theory still a thing?

USD Toreros has an assistant coach, Martin Bahar, who is also a former Georgetown former assistant from 2006 to 2009.

What is the difference between Jesuit and Catholic? All Jesuits are Catholic but not all Catholics are Jesuits. Jesuit, member of the Society of Jesus (S.J.), a Roman Catholic order of religious men founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola, noted for its educational, missionary, and charitable works. The order has been regarded by many as the principal agent of the Counter-Reformation and was later a leading force in modernizing the church. www.britannica.com/topic/Jesuits

That seems awfully quick that TJ found a new home... It's almost like everything didn't happen neatly in the timeline: Rice commits TJ decides to transfer TJ starts process of finding new school TJ announces next stop (10 days after Rice announcement, 6 days after transfer announcement)

That seems awfully quick that TJ found a new home... Not really surprising. TJ was Ivy bound, but they have a logjam with Seniors already offered an extra year (that rarely happens at an Ivy) and inbound freshman also coming. TJ didn't get a lot of playing time and likely wanted that to change. He was looking at high academics, which USD isn't, but it is a really good school. USD was gutted by transfers and only 1 to 3 players remain so TJ could get a lot of playing time with his skills. The team has been reaching out to many of the large conference transfers, particularly good academic schools, and making them offers.

May have helped persuade the comparison of USD to the other schools and campus life.

Maybe this was all worked prior to the end of the season and we are all just now finding out now.
One big guessing game.
In any event, props to TJ. Thank you for your time here at G-town and wishing you the best at USD. Beat those Zags.
