A series sweep would be nice. So would world peace. That may be more likely.😁

A bad matchup, bad spot, and traveling across the country is never a good sign. Not expecting much here whatsoever. Just play hard and hopefully, Jagan Mosely can earn that Creighton sweep. And get some Omaha Steaks, if he wants too. But, it's going to be an uphill battle, to say the least. After how bad Creighton looked against St. John's and how many threes they missed, it doesn't look like fun. Hopefully, a two-game slump is due, though. Hopefully.

FOX Sports Detroit PLUS FOX Sports Midwest FOX Sports North PLUS FOX Sports Southeast FOX Sports West MASN2 SportsTime Ohio YES Network on tape delay at 10:30 PM ET. for NY if YES Network has on tape delay then the Fox Sports Go App will probably have a live stream. That was same as first DePaul game I believe. It's not the normal fox sports app which I realized 5 min before tip off after help from this board.

We can beat those odds if we are lucky, play together, play well and play good defense

We can beat those odds if we are lucky, play together, play well and play good defense It would help if we could go 10/15 from 3 like in the Butler game!

We can beat those odds if we are lucky, play together, play well and play good defense It would help if we could go 10/15 from 3 like in the Butler game! The irony there is that in the first Creighton game we scored 83 points on 74 possessions, 1.12 points per possession, and only made 5-15 from 3. Not suggesting that is a great long-term offensive strategy. We shot 26-45 (57%) on 2s and controlled the glass (offensive and defensive) and that will be required again to offset Creighton making more 3s, they went 13-32 first game. I'm all for shooting more (and hopefully making) 3s, but there's a lot of different paths to a good offense.

Seeing how Blair/Allen/Mosely have really shown some wear and tear from the heavy minutes the last month and given the relatively short turnaround time from Sunday vs. Saturday, I think as much as we don't want to, we are going to have to find about 10-12 minutes from George and Jaden combined to give our starting guards a blow in both halves. Asking them to go 40 (or even the full second 20 like in the last 2 games) may just be a little too much for them physically. Also, George/Jaden earned those minutes with their performance against Xavier.
Think this is a game where we're going to need something special from Q (12 and 10-ish) to have any shot of winning. Creighton can be exploited inside and we are going to at least have to keep them honest in defending the paint to give our shooters some room. This doesn't necessarily mean running the offense primarily through Q, but he is going to have be extremely active on the boards and force Creighton to give him some added attention in keeping him off the offensive glass.
Key for the first game was holding Ballock in check for basically the first 37-38 minutes of the game. Creighton has 3 excellent shooters in Zegarowski, Alexander, and Ballock. If in man, allow individual defenders to try to stay in front of their man and fight through those screens up top. It sucks, but allow dribble penetration to happen at the expense of overhelping. Creighton is a team that can get extremely hot from 3 (40-50%). I would dare them to try to do better shooting 60-75% inside the arc.
Lastly, I hope we are able to slow down the pace. We are dead if we try to get into a track meet with these guys. Be patient in a halfcourt set and keep in mind an average shot is still better than a bad turnover. Limit runouts and I think we can at least keep this close to potentially steal late.

The other thing that jumped out at me from the first game was we had a bunch of success with side pick and rolls where Yurt7 would pop to mid-range instead of dive to hoop as it minimized their ability to blitz. That isn't as clean for Q to do but agree he needs to outplay Bishop and not get in foul trouble when Mahoney tries to draw him away from basket on defense

it's been said, this is a tough one tonight. pace, minutes, them coming off loss not shooting 3's well, they feel like they need to get us back, the crowd probably be more pumped than usual.
hoping for no ticy-tac foul calls against us

Any news on yurtseven I know Mac out with the boot and not practicing what about yurtseven any news? Xavier prepared for Mac to play and Ewing said after the game both Mac and Yurt were getting better but had no timetable for a return. Did Xavier have some info that both (maybe one or the other) were close to returning or were they just preparing for any scenario? If they had info we don't maybe one of them plays tonight, otherwise maybe our policy of not giving out any injury info at least caused their staff to work a few extra hours?!

People can easily prepare for everything. There is no benefit.

It's 2020. People can easily prepare for everything. There is no benefit. What do you mean by this? What does 2020 have to do with the amount of tools a team has? More tools available than their when this system, for lack of a better term, was put in place. Significantly more. It's so much easier to get information on players than it was even 10 years ago. It's not even a waste of time for anyone at this point. Plus, this wasn't the first time Xavier played the Hoyas. Same for Creighton. They have a system in place for everyone. They can easily develop a scouting report on someone.
