Sure, and I wouldn't have said anything if that was what the complaint was. Instead we got, they're lying, and the kids are running the show because some of them played this weekend. Most likely the organizers of Kenner lobbied, the kids lobbied, and the staff said it was optional if you want to play. That's why some did, and some didn't. It's really small stuff imo... If this team was upfront and transparent all the time sure this could be overlooked. As we all know they are one of the least transparent teams in the country and as a fan that sucks. This is just another example of that which is why I called them out. Making a corrected tweet would’ve took less than a minute. As for the overrule it just seems odd. I am assuming some thought went into making the decision that led to the tweet. The fact that they made a tweet was a huge step in the right direction. Then in less than a day they were overruled. I get that some on here will side with the team no matter what they do because that is the type of fan they choose to be and that is fine. They did it as the JT3 era showed the cracks and was tumbling to the ground. I call things out when I see them. They aren’t always negative but in this case it was. When things finally turn around and we get back to national prominence I think there will be less negativity around here. I understand the point you're trying to make. I respect it, but some of the stuff you complain about is really petty in the grand scheme of things imo. I would put this in that category. It's hard to say you're "calling things how you see them" when you're floating allegations with no evidence to support them.

Please find me the comment in this back and forth that contradicts my tweet. Again, what I'm objecting to is you calling people liars, and claiming that the coaches have lost control because a few kids played.. I don't understand why that's so difficult for you to understand. That part is out of bounds Imo..

It was just bad info put out by a team that never puts out any info. Does that make everything better. Not really sure what other allegation I made. I don’t think it’s exactly an allegation to say whoever made the original decision was overruled. Maybe my mistake was thinking the coaches made the original decision. Maybe it was the person that runs the Twitter account.

You like I seemed to be happy and think there was hope things were actually changing then in less than 24 hours it was back to the status quo.

It was probably just a conversation and the coaches decided to make things optional. It doesn't have to be that nefarious my guy. You continuing to try and make a mountain out of a mole hill is what's petty..

Dude, really?... lol None of my comments have been based on transparency. Again, I objected to you calling people liars. I objected to you floating the idea that the players are running the show because some played and some didn't. That's it. Why are you trying to flip it into something else? Can you at least try to not mischaracterize my points please. You literally responded to my post were I said if the complaint was based on why they didn't update the information, I would have had no problem with it: hoyatalk2.proboards.com/post/836178/thread Now you're trying to make it seem like I'm being hypocritical... C'mon man, we don't have to agree, but at least be fair.

C'mon man, we don't have to agree, but at least be fair. You are not being hypocritical but you are not being critical. You seem to be giving a team that deserves no benefit of the doubt when it comes to information the benefit of the doubt. You seem to think what you think happened actually happened. I could give an example of what I think happened but it would be seen as negative so would just be brushed under the rug as impossible. Your scenario may very well may have but it also may not have. If we just all fall in line and just believe they always do what’s right then we will still be stuck where we are which as a fan I think it sucks. I’m envious of the engagement and information other fan bases have which is why I made the original post. I think whoever put out that tweet and didn’t correct it did a huge disservice to the fan base. I am sure there were plenty of Hoyas fans that had planned on going this weekend that didn’t. For however meaningful or meaningless Kenner is it is still a good way to get the fan base engaged. The daily reports that the guys do is great. It gives us something to talk about to keep us engaged. I’m pretty sure we won’t be getting any of those as from Twitter it doesn’t seem like they went because of the tweet. I have flown in for Kenner playoffs before as they are the most competitive of the summer. You know how mad I would be if I flew in and then made other plans only to find out the guys played. You can say it’s not a big deal and to you it may not be and that’s fine. To others it may be. The fact is the decision maker got overruled. I guess it could’ve been Nike/Kenner and not the players that was the driving force so yes I misspoke about my 2 scenarios. Regardless the person that made what was a reasonable decision didn’t follow through on it. You think Coach K gets overruled like that? Once again maybe not a big deal in your opinion but in mine I dont like it. As for the players that played there is no rhyme or reason which I can’t wrap my head around. If players were in fact allowed to play why didn’t all who made the playoffs play? Are there a few injuries we don’t know about? If I’m reading the rules correctly the team wasn’t allowed to even practice on Thursday so why say practice was the reason they weren’t playing in kenner. Again I may be wrong as of course we have no idea when they actually practiced but the 10 rule makes me believe they couldn’t start until the 2nd. If there was a practice there was not even a picture to get us excited for the de facto start of the season. Again that goes back to my earlier point of fan engagement. I thought maybe the reason some guys didn’t play while others did was that there were practices going on during the games. The fact that some guys played and some didn’t that were on the same teams means that’s not the case. In the end I quote the great AI “we talking about practice? Practice?” No AI we aren’t because we have no idea when practice actually is.

Not certain if I’m reading the Hoya Talk message board or the in-fighting comments between progressives on the Daily Kos site. Transparency!! Why can’t they be more transparent?!?

I understand the point you're trying to make. I respect it, but some of the stuff you complain about is really petty in the grand scheme of things imo. I would put this in that category. It's hard to say you're "calling things how you see them" when you're floating allegations with no evidence to support them. OK the tweet might now be a lie. Maybe it was the person that runs the Twitter account. Or maybe no "decision" was ever made. Maybe the coaches simply took the obligation of Kenner league games away because of prep for the Bahamas, told the AD and the social team made the assumption most players wouldn't play and tweeted that out to be safe. You are inventing a mandate that banned players from playing in Kenner because it was tweeted out that they wouldn't be playing. There seems to be no logical reason for coaches or anyone to tell players they couldn't play. It would make much more sense for them to tell the team they didn't have to play though.
