And I'd take LeBlanc over him every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Marquette 3rd?? I'm not sure what a lot of people see in them outside Howard? I like them more defensively this upcoming season but besides Howard, I just don't know where else they get a needed bucket from down the stretch. I like Xavier & Providence more then Marquette. I think Marquette is more on line with Creighton as bubble teams that both end up in the tournament. Also a lot of people sleeping on DePaul. If Charlie Moore is eligible and they can get healthy, with Paul Reed they can play themselves on to the bubble.

Top 50 Returning College Basketball Players basketballsocietyonline.com/top-50-returning-college-basketball-players44. James Akinjo – Sophomore G, Georgetown
Akinjo only shot 36.5% from the field in his freshman year and didn’t show a strong ability to finish around the rim (36.5% as well). Get ready for an exciting year from the improved backcourt of James Akinjo and Mac McClung at Georgetown.
36. Alpha Diallo – Senior F/G, Providence Diallo was finally able to showcase an average three point shot last year, but there’s still so much for him to improve on. He’s one of the top returning players in the Big East without a doubt. 28. Naji Marshall – Junior F, Xavier The percentages fell across the board for Naji Marshall last year, but that was because he was asked to do just about everything for that Xavier team. With a more experienced Xavier team and another year under his belt, Naji should be able to be a steady leader for an underrated Big East squad. 26. Ty-Shon Alexander – Junior G, Creighton Another Big East member on this list. Ty-Shon Alexander is electric and can heat up in a HURRY. Consistency is the key for Ty-Shon, but expect him to average over 20 points per game and be one of the best three point shooters in the nation. 23. Kamar Baldwin – Senior G, Butler We have a lot of Big East guards on this list and Kamar Baldwin is no slouch. His defensive game is appealing and he continues to show glimpses on offense. Butler’s success this season will largely rely on Baldwin’s play. 3. Myles Powell – Senior G, Seton Hall It was tough to decide whether Myles Powell should be 3rd or 2nd on this list, but there was no argument for a later position. Powell is electric and nearly unstoppable once he gets going. Seton Hall is poised for a big year with Myles Powell leading the way. 2. Markus Howard – Senior G, Marquette And here’s the final Big East guard on the list! Markus Howard is dynamic, elusive, and one of the most clutch guards we’ve seen at this level. You can bet that he wants another chance after Ja Morant and Murray State cleaned out Howard and Marquette in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

2019-20 NCAA Preview: Top-10 Big East Players defpen.com/2019-20-ncaa-preview-top-10-big-east-players/10) James Akinjo (Georgetown) James Akinjo was one of the best freshmen in the conference last year and won Big East Freshmen of the year last year. He was also on the All-Freshmen First Team along with teammates Mac McClung and Josh Leblanc. Akinjo should be one of the top guards in the conference this year as Georgetown hopes to get back to the tournament. Akinjo is one of the best offensive guards in the conference, with a strong ability to shoot the ball from 3 and has the quickness to get into the lane and score. He shot 36% from the field, 39% from 3 and 81% from the line. He’ll need to improve his efficiency from the field, but he came up with some clutch shots last year and if he can improve his shot election he’ll be even more dangerous than he already is. He’s also one of the best passers in the conference, averaging 5.4 assists a game last season. He has been solid on the defensive end, but due to his height, he struggled at times with guarding taller opposing guards.

2019-20 Big East Power Rankings lastwordonprobasketball.com/2019/09/25/2019-20-big-east-power-rankings/6. Georgetown The Hoyas showed a tremendous amount of improvement under head coach Patrick Ewing in his second full year on the job. While Georgetown loses the services of Jessie Govan, returning will be a great sophomore class that is expected to only get better. Of course, that sophomore trio includes reigning Big East Freshman of the Year James Akinjo, the scintillating and Twitter fan favorite Mac McClung and the criminally underrated Josh LeBlanc. Big man and N.C. State transfer Omer Yurtseven will help fill the void left by the departure of Govan. The Hoyas clearly have all they need to contend in the Big East and make a run toward the NCAA Tournament.

Assuming all these guys stay committed, Jordan probably saved his job with this recruiting class. His in-game coaching has been poor, but recruiting certainly strong and trending upward.
